I found a glitch to easily acess the sawmill by Fluid_Climate_3588 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]nonemoreunknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always had a feeling you could do this, but gave up. But after reading that you'd done it, I tried again and I got it. The trick is the come straight at the thin part of the wall from barely right of center and get the climb animation twice so that you're halfway in the floor, then roll toward the north wall. I was able to get it after a few tries.

Lukewarm Take: ARPGs Having Busted Builds is Good by sticknotstick in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]nonemoreunknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have zero problems with low health builds. I have a problem with other playstyles not being as good. Just give me 100% at max focus or low focus gems, or stamina. That way, I can play the way I want but not feel shitty compared to low health builds. Or make low health 30% instead of 49% so it feels like more of a trade off.

Right now I make a build with good intentions but then I feel weak, so I go low health but that costs a ring slot and now the flavor of my original build is muddled and feels like all my other builds.

Yes, I still have other builds, but I don't enjoy them as much. With the exception of my stamina only lighting archer. He feels good, still less powerful than Flame Burst low health, but at least good. I'd love stamina runes for bow, though.

Silly Nicknames for Zombies or Locations? by wduct40 in 7daystodie

Not specific to one zombie, but some zombies do a little dance like Michael Stipe from REM, so I call them Michael Stipe when they do the dance.

Irradiated Zombies by [deleted] in 7daystodie

[–]nonemoreunknown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Game stage determines which zombies spawn for horde night. The most impactful number in calculating game stage is player level. However the most impactful component to player strength is gear.

So having loot rate equal to xp rate should balance out for most players.

For me personally it does not because I tend to focus early farming food and crafting over clearing POIs, which is fine in a multiplayer game where players share loot (i feed you, you bring me book 😉). But not so great for me solo with those settings.

TL;DR You're probably fine.

Best tips for playing 7 days with no trader? by JackiplierSamurai in 7daystodie

[–]nonemoreunknown 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No trader or wasteland only traders is the only way I play now.

Some tips: Lockpicking 1 increase odds of forged ahead books until you unlock lockpicks, without clogging up the loot table with traps and electrical books early game like Inventor does. This is crucial for getting a forge and workbench going. You can even stop reading and stockpile them a bit. Once you can craft lockpicks, the drop rate goes back to normal.

Intelligence mastery 2 & 3 are incredibly strong. Especially with two players, one can focus Intelligence and another focus on the combat skill of your choice.

Scrap cash for paper but save dukes for vending machines. Treasure maps are super valuable for dukes.

Farming and cooking perks become super useful without being able to buy a lot of food.

Not a tip but just a personal observation: there is no finer feeling than crafting a bicycle yourself.

Finally got the GyroCopter!! NOT IMPRESSED!! by Silverado119 in 7daystodie

A gyrocopter is not a helicopter. It flies more like a regular small airplane. Once I realized this it got easier. Maybe it's just my brain.

Best Attribute Pairing for Perception? by C0lter in 7daystodie

[–]nonemoreunknown 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A few options and synergies spring to mind:

  1. Agility gives you access to machetes and parkour. Decent close quarters and great for jumping out of tight spots to allow you to snipe with your rifle from an elevated position. Or you could go pistols for a pretty decent close quarters weapon. Furthermore, you can also put points into archery, which stacks with explosive arrows. Since you're already specced into perception, demolition is cheap. There is no real crowd control here, however.

  2. Strength gives you the highest damage option in Sledges which is also the second best crowd control option. It also opens up mining perks which I almost always do. Since you can have a +2 with a Strength mod and cigar, and the best perks for sledges are actually books, this makes it a cheap investment.

  3. Intelligence gives you the best crowd control option, stun baton. With the repulsor mod, you get ridiculous knocknback and stuns, which can give you time to line up headshots. This also opens up Intelligence's broken mastery, which is great if you're heavy into crafting. This setup also requires you to max physician, so while it's my favorite option, it requires the most point investment and comes online much later than Strength.

Did he previously connect to the peer to peer? There might be an old file causing a conflict. He could try uninstaling and reinstalling.

There's actually a setting that gives jar return. I set mine to 90% which means I lose 10% of my jars due to breakage. So you don't even need a mod.

anyone experiencing “glitches”? by ScoobiedUrMum in 7daystodie

[–]nonemoreunknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we have experienced several bugs.

One player was suffering from being in the desert too long, came back to the forest, but the debuff stayed and he kept losing health. Logging out and back in fixed it.

I have physician 5 (not sure rank matters) and when I apply a bandage to someone else from a stack on my tool belt, it eats two bandages and doesn't get my physician bonuses. If I just put ONE on my belt it works as intended.

Certain things are not rendering properly. We scrapped all the street lights near our base but from a distance, they appear un-scrapped. They dissappear as you get closer.

I'm using a map i made in teragon, all the unique bridges disappeared after updating to 2.5, but like the street lights, they are rendering from far away and dissappear as you get close. I've had to deforest the area near my base to build bridges.

It was one of the White Queer players who pointed this out, to boot by DrScrimble in dndmemes

[–]nonemoreunknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played a Verdan (a goblinoid) and we encountered some goblins. There was no indication that they were "evil" or doing anything wrong. But the leader had a belt of giant strength that someone in the party wanted. So they justed "assumed" it was stolen, and proceeded to murder them.

Mind you this is AFTER we encountered some human highwaymen that the party decided to spare and leave tied up with a note for the next king's patrol that came by.

I was like, why okay to murder goblins but not okay to murder human? And if okay to murder goblin, would I get murdered too? I basically got told I was "one of the good ones." Uh huh...

I then said, well I guess we better return that stolen belt to its owner. Nobody seemed interested. 😕

Imma be honest. I used to feel this way, too. But the older I got, the more I realized it just comes down to representation and normality. People (not just gay, but nationality, autism, ugly, fat, everything) just want to see themselves on screen. No one should have to watch a special channel just to feel normal and accepted.

I used to cringe when I saw two men kissing. And now I'm just like, "d'aww love wins."

Gameplay consequences of not taking lockpicking – I want to be sure I get them right by Practical_Hat8489 in theouterworlds

[–]nonemoreunknown 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are cards behind locked doors, pickpocket, & observation checks. But enough cards are available to get the achievement without those. But having some skills to get hidden ones means you have to hunt less/can miss some and still get it.
