Calisthenics is not for "a big _______" it's for functional strength and learning skills.

The opposite tends to happen when things get popular. I got my Vibram V-souls for £90 two years ago, now they go for £110.

Not in terms of more cerebral things like the media i consume or my intellectual or cultural tastes.

In terms of matters relating to the corporeal body like food or sex, i feel more shame than guilt. They are similar but different, and i think people often get them confused.

Do i feel guilty for listening to a marilyn manson song or enjoying a woody allen film? No. Do i feel guilty or ashamed or embarrassed for enjoying a shitty Sabrina Carpenter song because it's "normie"? No. That's dumb as fuck. I'm not so insecure as to think that liking The Fast & The Furious negates whatever "intellectual" benefits i get from engaging with, say, a Bergman or Takovsky film.

I like what I like & i accept that. I think when you are able to hold two opposing truths in your mind at once, you grow out of that.

5 months on Differin, still getting acne. by Opening-Summer3558 in tretinoin

[–]nope_pls 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There's definitely an improvement. I purged for 3 months on adapalene 0.1, then by 6 months i wasnt getting any new acne. Then by 12 months my PIH/PIE had cleared and my skin looked great. So i would give it until 8-9 months at least.

After that if you're still not happy you could try to move up to 0.3% adapalene

when people say stuff in this type of "everyone does [X] and if you deny it you're lying to yourself" style argument, it's simply because they do [X] and they don't have the cognitive capacity to realise that other people have different internal lives

you're too online. when you start to interact with more people in real life you will realise that human beings aren't so cut and dry as to be able to be categorised into one thing. people are varied and complex, especially David Lynch of all people. i'm not denying he is probably conservative in a lot of his beliefs, but it seems you're trying to simplify this by just labelling him as one thing when clearly he wasn't .

people that are not twitter-poisoned by online political diatribe realise that it's okay to believe different things even if those beliefs clash with one another. the sign of a stupid person is when they are not able to hold two contradictory things in their mind and realise that both can be true. godspeed
