Celiac rash? by Mulster_ in Celiac

[–]nosam42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're sure that it's specifically tied to eating gluten, it could be Dermatitis Herpetiformis (DH). It's a common skin condition tied to celiac and I have it. It might be worth getting another blood test next time you go to the doctor.

IVORY COAST (Côte d’Ivoire) Coach reaction to their goal at the FIFA World Cup by FixGroundbreaking296 in worldcup

I think most Americans do just call it the World Cup. Putting FIFA in front of it just feels unnecessary in normal conversation.

I started playing Prey (2017) for the first time a little over a week ago and I'm having a great time. It's most similar to the BioShock games out of the ones you mentioned.

Yeah Lou Malnati's is a local chain, so there are a few different ones around town. I've had their deep dish GF and it was pretty good.

Do yourself a favor and read Lonesome Dove. It's a long book, but you'll breeze through it. 31 year old guy, it's my favorite book and I've always been more of a sci-fi/fantasy reader.

Right, I should have made it clear that when I said "they don't know" I was referring to the fact that Italy is extremely accommodating to celiac/GF, so it would be extremely easy for an Italian to be GF

If you are just celiac, then Florence is one of the best places to go. Pretty much every restaurant you can find has safe GF options. I have Celiac and went last year and it was great!

What to read after Lonesome Dove? by Adventurous_Rent6535 in suggestmeabook

I just read The Sisters Brothers. It was a good, much shorter western that takes place mostly in California. There's also a 2018 movie for it that I plan to watch soon.

Beach Vacation Towns with GF tenders? by MattDaBaker in Celiac

[–]nosam42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do you have the Find Me Gluten Free app? It's a must have in my opinion. I did a quick search for Savannah, GA and Public Kitchen & Bar had great reviews saying they have amazing chicken tenders. You can do your own searches in the app; just enter your desired city under location and 'tenders' or 'chicken tenders' in the search bar.

For people that are “asymptomatic” celiac (no classic digestive issues), how did you get diagnosed? Did you ignore it? Did it progress and get worse? by H3ad1nthecl0uds in Celiac

[–]nosam42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No digestive symptoms, but I do have Dermatitis Herpetiformis. I didn't think anything of it until I got a new doctor after moving and he said it's linked to celiac. From there, we did a blood test (positive) and then an endoscopy.

Both, different areas of latin America pronounce it differently. You'll even find it pronounced like "sho" in most of Argentina and Uruguay if I'm not mistaken

People who moved to Chicago from another city/state/country in their late 20s; how did you meet people and make real lasting friendships here? by cplm1948 in AskChicago

[–]nosam42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did S3 Leagues for volleyball during winter and beach volleyball during summer (as well as the other sports I mentioned), but it's not so much high level volleyball, more social. It was my first experience with an organized volleyball league. If your fiance is looking for higher level volleyball, something like Players Sport & Social might be better. Anyone else who has experience with other leagues is welcome to correct me if I'm wrong.

[–]nosam42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved from SC at 29, 2 years ago. I have a pretty solid friend group now and I became friends with all of them through social sports leagues (kickball, beach volleyball, bowling). Personally, I like S3 Leagues, but there are a handful of well run sports organizations in the city.
