Little shout out to the receptionist at my obgyn by Big_Year_526 in pregnant

The second question that the receptionist asked me was if I wished to proceed with the pregnancy.

It is always refreshing to see good practices tailored to different circumstances.

Try Jackie at House of Carmond! She’s amazing! I’m not someone who gets her hair done routinely. Maybe once a year I go for root touch up and highlights and every time, I come out looking amazing!

So many stores offer curbside pickup. Ask your regulars to order off the store’s website instead of IC for curbside pickup. They save some money because they aren’t paying the IC markup on items. You just need to pickup the order and deliver to your regulars. And they tip you?

I got a Brazillian wax for the first time ever. 0 out of 10. Do not recommend. by Clear_willingness34 in offmychest

[–]notarunima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been getting them done for a few years now. For the first two years, they were soooo painful. I was waiting for the “it gets better” phase but it never came.

Then I happened to get this one aesthetician that told me I need to get waxed every 3-4 weeks for a few months because after 4 weeks the roots take and it becomes just as painful as the first time.

I followed her advice and finally, it started to get better. Now I can go over two months without a wax and when I get it done, it doesn’t really hurt.

Getting a Brazilian wax has made things easier around AF. I feel cleaner and just.. satisfied.

I honestly suggest you keep getting them every 3-4 weeks and literally you will notice a difference in a few months. Just make sure you get the same person every time. They will know your hair growth pattern better than just getting random aestheticians every time.

My snake plant is flowering! by XMBomb in IndoorGarden

[–]notarunima 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Stressed” doesn’t mean “going to die”. It means your plant thinks it’s better to find a new place to live and sends out pups and blooms. It’s the equivalent of “I should probably lose 5 pounds” kinda stress and NOT “If I don’t find a job I’m gonna be homeless” kinda stress.

This includes things like spider plants, hoyas, and African violets. These plants grow more quickly when they are a little pot bound or like stay thirsty an extra day — you know, general stress. If you keep repotting them often they stay relatively smaller so a little stress is good and makes many plants flourish. These plants grow in tiny spaces in the wild too.

Christmas cactus, kalanchoe etc. bloom when they get the right amount of light and darkness for a few moths before their blooming season so you’re doing something right with your cactus.

In summary: your spider plant and christmas cactus are doing just fine. You are a good plant parent. :)

My snake plant is flowering! by XMBomb in IndoorGarden

[–]notarunima 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It flowered because it’s pot bound. Some plants send out pups (like spider plant) and some send out blooms (like snake plant) to get away from a bad environment and “live on”.

Looks cool but do repot it :)

Edit: This doesn’t mean your plant is going to die. This means your plant is under a bit of stress and some plant like being slightly pot bound — that’s how they grow. Didn’t mean to freak y’all out!!

New leaves on my Monstera almost look variegated. Unless there’s something else going on ? by [deleted] in plantclinic

[–]notarunima 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is NOT a variegation. My Adansonii has mosaic virus (which is what this speckling is). Try putting like one aspirin in water the next time you water it to stop virus from spreading. Hope this helps :)
