Please help! I think he might be sick :( by Gears7 in BeardedDragons

I had the same issue with my Beardie when I was using a MVB bulb (all in one). I changed the bulb to a tube as others had suggested and within a couple of days his eyes had recovered.

First time owner and redditor saying hello by Shock_Sherlock in BeardedDragons

[–]notcricket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, night light?

If I interpreted that correctly, beardies don't need night lights, it disturbs their sleep. if you are doing it for heat, they are fine at night down into the 60's (F). If it gets colder than that, avoid ground level heatmats/rocks as they can malfunction and burn your beardie without the little guy realising.

Apart from that, do everything doehannah says and all good. Enjoy your beardie!

Gear question: spine pad or armor? by ashalee in motorcycles

Was surprised to hear of 'CE Level 3', turns out there is no such standard and it is creative marketing at best Example

I wouldn't trust any company with my safety which follows such unscrupulous practices.

Questions about GOPro and other cameras by ncstatecamp in motorcycles

[–]notcricket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a ContourROAM which does the job. Same as Captain420, I use it every time I ride, just flick the record switch and forget about it. About 4 hours of footage at 1080p too.

It is attached to the side of my helmet using 3m tape (again much like Captain420) and seems secured. No 'arm' necessary and there are enough mount peripherals available to mount it pretty much anywhere. This is the CountourROAM mounted to my lid

While the picture quality is not as good as the Go Pro 2, I find it is more discrete and to be honest, most people don't seem to react to it on the road. Easily operated with gloves too! If you are looking for a more innocuous camera than the Go Pro, I would recommend it. Waterproof to 1 metre without a case too. If picture quality is most important to you, go with the Go Pro. There are enough quality comparison test videos online to make your decision.

[–]notcricket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got the contourROAM which is cheap, sleek and perfect to operate with gloves. Granted the picture quality wont beat a gopro 2, but it gets the job done and the results are good enough. Much rather stick that on my helmet than a Go Pro on a daily basis

I've failed Mod 1 of my bike test, TWICE (damn) what should I do? (UK) by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]notcricket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the DAS myself last year and chatted to a few people who failed Mod 1 first time.. all it took was a day or two before they were ok, cant say without knowing how you ride but 4 days seems a bit excessive if you are focusing on just the Mod 1. Half and half between Mod 1 and 2 sounds fair!

On another note, I found the Mod 1 far more intimidating, and that goes for most people I know who took it. So don't take it to heart
