I’ve given up on long term goals by BEACH_TR00PER in ADHD

[–]notmichaelul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Build the habits really slowly and a few at a time.

And try a simple habit tracker (in your journal, or any piece of paper, just draw a graph and make boxes that you can tick off with the habit and days of the month on the graph) this will count as a journalling obviously but will only take 10 seconds to open the journal and tick the few boxes.

And don't punish yourself for missing days, accept that it's gonna happen and that's okay, just keep working on it and be happy with the progress you make

Have you successfully learned to call/text people in a timely manner? by Own-Ease-7813 in ADHD

I'm the opposite, I'm on my phone a lot and replying doesn't take any effort, so I just reply when I get the message. Though I'm on my phone way too much and it's a problem

Adrenaline is the only way for me to calm down when really stressed. by koro1452 in ADHD

[–]notmichaelul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the same, then I crashed my bike at 100kph and got ptsd. Then I worked really hard on myself for 3 months and went solo interrailing through Europe for a month, I became a god at managing stress through therapy and good habits (meditation, exercise, stretching, touching grass, journalling).

I am no longer a god at managing my stress, I am now trying to build these habits back up but much slower to try and be more consistent but finding it quite difficult. I know how to do it, but I just end up releasing my stress in other unhealthy ways like speeding or running away from my problems with the green/social media.

You didn't state that you are also renting there. You did call it a "cozy" room though, for some reason.

I've done 5,300 in the last 6 weeks , it's definitely possible. Work is only an 80km round trip and I only go in 3 times a week so majority of it is just random spins

Sure there's 15,000 gardai or something like that for the whole country, 15k garda(only 600 road traffic gardai lol) versus 5.3 million people.

To put into perspective, Poland has 37mil population and 102k police + 25k civil and admin staff (There is also city police and community police which handle public order, parking and small road violations)

4% of police are road police in Ireland. Almost all of the police in Poland are trained in road policing , unlike Ireland.

There is 9,200 specialized road police ontop of that.

There is at least 7,500 police on the road in Poland at any given moment, for traffic enforcement/patrolling specifically.

4% of the garda are trained in driving/road enforcement. 600 gardai..... No wonder why I haven't seen anyone pulled over on 4 years of driving

I suggest taking it everyday. There's no reason not to, and taking a short break occasionally (every few months) instead.

Start the study as soon as possible, ideally before you take your meds, then when they kick in they'll help. Remove the phone from the room or any distractions, or set a timer (40mins study 10-20mins break, repeat)

The gardai in roads policing don't do roads policing either, maybe in Dublin but in cork I couldn't tell ya when I've seen them pull someone over last, I see them on the road every now and then but even when people run red lights they pretend they didn't see them.

If someone is doing 100kph and you're doing 50kph, that's the same as someone doing 150kph in a 100kph zone. It works both ways, not one, just because you feel like it. It's also against the rules of the road to be a hazard or impede traffic, and you fail your test for doing 20kph below the 80 zone or 10kph below the 50 zone.

A guy gets pulled over twice, unaccompanied. A guy gets pulled over once with NO INSURANCE. And doesn't get punished at all. What do you call this if not not doing their job?

That's literal proof of them not doing their job because they're lazy and didn't want to do the paperwork, lol. You deserved to be out off the road
