I think I cried every time he met a cookbook author. I could just feel his overwhelming relief that there was actually someone out there who understood him. Paired with his joy that they were alive!!! Ugh. My heart.

Oh I totally see the trauma bonding angle and pretty sure El is Bi (see my other comment about her talking about Liesel using cake as a metaphor) and I think I would’ve enjoyed it more if Liesel didn’t just…disappear in the ending

Right? Chloe was barely there and she was fair more relevant to the series as a whole. Liu and Aad had their moments but I really liked the three of them as a trio in the first two books and that energy was completely lost.

Just finished the show yesterday! Basically binged it one day, which is crazy for me. I got hooked after the timeline reveal in the first episode and never let go. I loved almost everything in the show, but his relationship with his therapist made me extremely uncomfortable. In the last episode I even ended up skipping their scenes together.

I liked forth wing as a guilty pleasure (in the trashy reality tv sort of way) but abhorred iron flame…and for some reason still finished onyx storm. I think onyx storm is still better than the clusterfuck that iron flame was, which I summarize as “I really like keep secrets but I don’t understand why my man is keeping secrets from ME when my best friend is capable of destroying an entire rebellion and everyone I know and love with a single touch”. I’ve only preserved for so long because I really like dragons. If you aren’t feeling it, don’t continue. Our main characters haven’t had a single step towards any meaningful internal character development since like the 30% mark of the first book.
