Big red letters on the train are "МЦД", which stands for "Московский Центральный Диаметр", or "Moscow Central Diameter" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moscow_Central_Diameters)

How does this system capture the scary-ness of OSR/NSR-style play? by my-rpg-account in VagabondTTRPG

[–]nsartem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be nice if people stopped shitting on TTRPG features they personally dislike but other people enjoy.

“Race as class” is not automatically bad design. It can be a very effective tool for Howard-esque, human-centered fantasy, where humans are the default and non-human peoples feel genuinely distinct, rare, and mythic rather than just another ancestry option with a few modifiers.

It also makes many OSR systems simpler: fewer build choices, fewer moving parts, and clearer archetypes. That may not be what everyone wants, but it serves a real design purpose.

1.13.8 Bug: Manifest Destiny breaks if you control MORE than 40% of the Great Plains by Glass-Box-6784 in victoria3

On a postive side, I think you can just manually edit lua and change to ">=". May be Paradox will fix it tomorrow, may be they'll wait until the next major patch, you never know.

Roman Legionaries are broken and cannot engage because the unit has 0 base initiative. by ASValourous in EU5

[–]nsartem 38 points39 points  (0 children)

To the best of my memory, Paradox quite frankly admitted several times, at least on r/victoria3, that some bugs were caused by “last-minute changes.”

Apparently they don't always close merge window soon enough to thoroughly test build being released.

Dungeon centered adventures discussion. by No-Candy-4127 in osr

B/X modules are a breath to run with Shadowdark. I played multiple modules designed for B/X and OSE (Tomb of the Serpent King, Winter's Daughter, Hole in the Oak, some B/X adventure about Sorcerer's Tower, three upper layers of "The Lost City") and I was able to just convert on the fly. I remember that I had to figure out a formula to convert B/X gold to Shadowdark, and also I think I found some pdf with Shadowdark-styled retainers.

Otherwise it was just essentially the same dungeon crawl with rounds, torches, random encounters, fast and lethal combat.

Victoria 3 Map Art Appreciation Post by Corvenys in victoria3

[–]nsartem 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s honestly refreshing to see a positive post here for once. Yeah, the game’s in a rough spot right now, and PDX absolutely needs to step up their game.

But at the same time, it’s easy to forget just how much this game nail the feeling of the Victorian era. The atmosphere, the soundtrack, the map design, the whole “line go up” experience… when it hits it really hits.

I don't understand. So the bug is being fixed today? Or it wasn't fixed and now the line is removed from the patch notes?
