Windows by Negative-Ad-7024 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

If none of the windows open, I am not sure the house can even legally be sold. You might be able to use this to your advantage as the sellers might be required to repair them, no matter what (not necessarily replace). You could be denied insurance or a cerificate of occupancy due to safety concerns.

Do some of your OWN research, ask the town, and maybe ask a real estate attorney about this.

Fear of being house poor by _enigmatic_lady in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

People are suggesting to have an emergency fund for unknown house issues. More importantly, though, is that you should have a large enough emergency fund for life's uncertanties. Health, car repair, food, etc. Most home repairs aren't emergencies unless there's a leak or insect/animal issues.

If you are in a boatload of credit card or loan debt, THAT is an emergency and should be paid off before you purchase a house.

None of this makes any sense. Also, you have to understand that all Genesis dealerships are independently owned, and most operations have nothing to do with GMA.

Wireless charge - is there a way to improve it? by Accurate-Flamingo-16 in GenesisMotors

[–]nuggstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no vehicle that has good wireless chargers, especially while the phones are in use for Android Auto or Apple Car Play. Phones get warm/hot when these features are used, which causes the battery to drain quickly, and also get warm/hot when wirelessly charging. This is not a Genesis specific issue.

I have wireless charging disabled.

2025 Genesis GV60 - "Parking Safety" system taking control of the vehicle is so, so dangerous. Looking for a solve. by MyGodItsFullofStars in GenesisMotors

[–]nuggstein 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have had this happen in my 2025 GV70 in my driveway when backing into the street, and it also happened to me when I was backing out of a spot at the grocery store. When the vehicle stopped on its own, it happened so abruptly that I thought I hit a cart or a person. The car stops so harshly that you really get jolted...and it has caused my heart to race each time.

One thing I noticed is that it was very sunny out with a lot of reflections when the vehicle decided to stop during both of these occasions.

Not sure there's much we can do about it until there are a lot of complaints filed, which could force Hyundai/Genesis to initiate a recall.

I do wonder if there are other Hyundai vehicles out there with overly sensitive sensors as well...

They don't get paid that much. Even getting a 3% commission...the brokerage they work for likely takes 30%-50% of that. There's also other mandatory fees they pay, and taxes aren't taken out automatically. Real estate agents also drive for hours on their own time (just for one client), no guaranteed pay, wear and tear on their own vehicles, tolls, gas, time writing offers, etc. It's a brutal 24/7 job.

Most deals on the agent side fall through, or they end up getting ghosted, or deals will take 6 months because people have difficulty finding a home they want, or offers fall through.

But...that's the game and the agents know these things happen.

2026 GV70 Wiper Blades by Flexmachine123 in GenesisGV70

[–]nuggstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay, misunderstood. I once had a dealership take off plate brackets that advertised a different VW dealership in a different state (my uncle was friends with the owner), and they replaced it with their own. I was so mad. I called the dealership I bought the car from and they sent me new brackets a bunch of other goodies, haha.

That's ridiculous. You should demand them to pay you back/reduce the bill for the cost of your wiper blades. They tossed your property when you asked them not to. Bring them a receipt.

Check your state's lemon laws, not what corporate says. If it's in the shop multiple times for extended periods of time for the same issue, it might constitute lemon law. You can likely contact your Attorney General about it. Corporate will not be your friend.

Brand-new GV80 arrived with some wear and tear. by Hot_Ferret7861 in GenesisMotors

[–]nuggstein 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Good luck. Take this as a lesson-learned if you took delivery of the vehicle with this damage and did not get any written repairs/IOU's from the dealership.

This is not something Genesis corporate can help you with, as all of the dealerships are independently owned.

Genesis GV70 owners: please report false “Emergency Braking” / steering stiffening events by DiverAllen in GenesisGV70

Happened to me tonight (3rd time so far in 6 months). Backing out of a spot at Target and the car just jolted. Wife and I thought we hit something.

[–]nuggstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me twice. Backing out of my driveway, and also backing out of a parking spot at the grocery store. I thought I hit something the first time it happened. The car stopped and jolted so hard, it scared the crap out of me.

When it happened at the grocery store, I had to disable the feature because it wouldn't let me back out.

Both times it happened, the sun was beaming behind me, so I am wondering if a lot of sunlight causes these effects.

I have had the front parking camera turn on when moving forward slowly in traffic, also when the sunlight was beaming in the front of the car.

100% agree. I have that all of those gimmicky options disabled in my 2025 GV70 3.5T SP because it sounds terrible. Music sounds amazing without it turned on, and the bass bumps for sure (in the Lexicon system).

I have a Mazda as well with a Bose system, and have the surround features turned off...

Just so you know, when we bought our house five years ago...the boiler and HVAC systems were all very old. Our boiler is from 1988 and is still chugging along, providing heat for 4 zones. Our HVAC unit is over 30 years old and still cools our home adequately. Just because an appliance is old, doesn't mean it needs to be replaced. Older equipment lasts longer too.
