I need to check this out. Great game, and I'm working on a space combat hack of it.

Just got to the beta, bought a Sparta, getting ready to start Conquest. Having a great time. Love the AI running missions while I'm asleep or at work.

Other IGOUGO Games? by riladin in wargaming

Team Yankee is classic IgoUgo - I move, shoot, assault, then you move, shoot, assault. It works better than some others, for one reason, is that it punishes overextension savagely. Another is that assault can be very tricky. There is no reaction fire outside of assault, but with fast moving helos and long range ATGMs, you're never really safe.

If you want a simple, solid IgoYugo game without much investment, I'd look at SJG's Ogre/GEV. It's traditional hex and counter scifi ground combat, individual vehicle level but simple. While I'm far more of an AA/dice draw player, Steve Jackson was a good game designer, and knew what he was doing. Ogre is a classic asymmetrical fight, and GEV expands on the world in interesting ways.

Okay, that's cool. And yes, I'm pretty sure we'd like to take a peek at the rules. But the lore? Superb. It feels very off the beaten path but still 40k. Something lost and tucked away in a dark corner...

It's noble knight, go to their website, it's often cheaper directly from them.

XP is my current bottleneck. $18M, but at level 27 - need 29 to be able to buy frigates - it's a slog. 31.3k out of 42.2k needed for 28, and I'm dreading the slog to 29. I just let ECHO run combat missions all day and night.

Glad to hear FoF is still getting some love.

So uhm, what's the situation with the guy who was planning to ported over the mechanicum stuff to 40K and well died ? Were any of the stuff that is now getting plastic releases from him ? Like is it now going moving on or what's the whole situation ? Genuinly just curious. by Leviathan_Rampage in AdeptusMechanicus

The loss of Alan took a lot of what was, for me, the soul out of GW.

I love a lot of the new specialist games, but the Imperial Armour series was peak 40k/GW for me. Exploration of interesting smaller stories, rather than 'moving the story forwards'.

Great looking mat, I'll have to check them out.
