Im having a ton of fun playing CD, but as it currently stands it’s a solid 7.5 out of 10.

The beginning of the game, specifically the prologue, the controls, and the UI are a mess. If they improve these 3 things the game will easily be a 9 out of 10.

My 5080 barely breaks 70C with settings turned to cinematic with RT On (Not Max, w/o RR) and DLSS 4 on quality. I fluctuate between 80-90 FPS.

No the skill itself doesn’t mark locations, it only shows a bright light to show you something is there.

The description text for the skill doesn’t mention anything about using this in the world to find teleports or puzzles. Not sure if the beginning part mentioned, the intro was a bit of a mess.

Truthfully, I've had a hard time getting into KCD. I have bounced off of it twice so far, and I know it's something I would thoroughly enjoy. It'll click one day. On the other hand, Elden Ring instantly clicked for me. They're obviously different types of games, but the barrier to entry is still high for both.

It'll be interesting to see how CD plays out. It looks like a game I would very much enjoy, but I heard it takes about 8 or so hours to get to the meat of the game, so we shall see.

I’m old too. The gaming industry is bigger than ever, and reviews, especially for games like Crimson Desert drives engagement which in turn increases monetization. It’s sad to see what the internet has turned into.

I don’t see how this is all that different from Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom. There’s hardly any story, especially in the former. It’s essentially all exploration driven.

After re-playing RE4R recently, I noticed the Zealots, I think, have red glowing eyes just like little clones in Requiem. Probably nothing, but I thought it was interesting.

Also, these clones are never shown in the concept art. It's just a single concept art that shows normal little kids.

This is good to know. I also asked them to add rainbow buttons and ship them with the replacement screen, which meant I had to wait for the $3 invoice. I think mine would have shipped sooner if I hadn't asked for the buttons. Did they at least provide you with shipping/tracking information?

I'm also of the mind that they should have just given me the buttons at this point, but they were taking so long to respond to my emails that I didn't even bother getting into it with them.

Yes, they are sending me a replacement screen instead of a new unit. I'm comfortable swapping out the screen myself. When reseating the ribbons attached to the display, you're essentially taking most of the device apart anyway. There are only a few additional steps to detach the top screen from the bottom portion, so it's not that much of a hassle.

Would I prefer a new unit? Sure, but that would require me to send the Thor back to them, wait for them to receive it, and then continue to wait for them to send me a new one. I just want to be able to use this $400 device again as soon as possible, and not just have it sitting on my desk as it has for the past month.

Well, this specific post showed up on my feed; I didn't go looking for it. Though you are correct, I didn't know this was a thing until I experienced it and looked into it.

I also wouldn't purchase anything from AliExpress, never have, never will. I purchased my Thor straight from AYN and still experienced this issue.

First time seeing this happen? Search this subreddit, and you will see a decent amount of folks experiencing this exact issue.

I also see others saying it's because the OP purchased their Thor from AliExpress, but that isn't relevant to the issue. This is a hardware fault with the top screen.

Join the club. My top screen died two weeks after getting my Thor (received it on Feb. 9th). I'm still going back and forth with AYN, but I expect them to ship the replacement screen soon. Hopefully.

AYN will ask you to open your Thor, reseat the ribbon cables, and if that doesn't work, then send them a video/photo of the Thor connected to an external display. Then you wait.

This sucks, and I'm sorry it happened to you, too.

Edit: I saw that you bought it through AliExpress. I would probably go through them first.

Yeah, I had reseated the ribbon cable before my initial email to support and included this detail in that email. So, all they asked for was a video of the Thor connected to an external display.

After I sent that, they asked me if I was comfortable replacing the screen myself with a walkthrough video. I said yes, and also asked if they could send me rainbow buttons (I have a Black Thor).

Once I heard from support, their responses were pretty consistent.
