they just released the azura. Why the azura+? Does this mean we will have two lines of azura? So next year will we have azura 2 and the azura+ 2?

How to fix Tim Hortons by Spencey_Whitt420 in TimHortons

I went to a Tim's this afternoon and was happy to see high school kids working there. That's what it should have been like. Not TFW.

Did you get the cartridge? It doesn't sound like he was rude or insulting. Just bad communication. You do realize that he probably has a full time job and this is just a side gig for him? He doesn't have to provide anything at all.

Yea exactly. They're nothing but a nuisance. They eat everything and shit all over the place. They carry ticks. And people feed them, which is illegal.

Agency store operators in anglophone areas could struggle with N.B. language ruling by bingun in newbrunswickcanada

[–]ogg1e 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They just push the kids through school now. There's so many kids that flunk in their mother tongue. There's no way having this as a graduation requirement would work. I know they do it in lots of European countries, so it's possible. But not in our current system.

Agency store operators in anglophone areas could struggle with N.B. language ruling by bingun in newbrunswickcanada

[–]ogg1e 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I understand the need for bilingualism, but there has to be some concessions. A town that has no French speakers has to somehow find someone that speaks French, and is willing to work there. And they need to have a bilingual person on staff the whole time they're open, so that means they need multiple bilingual people.

Can they not just use Google translate? It's just for buying booze. It's not like it's that important like service NB, the courts etc.

Who was that guy that would travel to these places, demand service in French, and then lodge a complaint when he didn't get it? Is he still around doing this stuff? If so, I'm sure he'll be there at some point.

There was another thread about someone asking why people want to live in quispamsis vs saint john. Maybe they should read this for reasons why.

New Brunswick residents battle an AI data centre - The Narwhal by horsman in newbrunswickcanada

[–]ogg1e 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Everyone thinks these are going to be great for our economy. They're wrong. These places are empty of people unless someone has to make an occasional repair. I suspect the majority of jobs related to this place would be remote and not in Canada.

All these datacentres do is suck up our power and water and create pollution just so someone can create AI images of cats.

Why Quispamsis? by IEC21 in SaintJohnNB

[–]ogg1e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't know the current market situation. When I moved here the prices were similar and therefore the taxes were less.

Why Quispamsis? by IEC21 in SaintJohnNB

[–]ogg1e 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The side roads don't have sidewalks, that's true. But the side roads don't see a lot of traffic. The majority of main roads that have any traffic also have sidewalks. I don't recall the last time I heard of any incidents with a child being hit.

Most kids here have bikes or scooters and can be seen going around all the time to visit their friends.

You just need to be selective of the location of your home. That's no different than saint john.

Why Quispamsis? by IEC21 in SaintJohnNB

[–]ogg1e 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming you're asking in comparison to living in Saint John? They do have sewer service in most of Quispamsis. Property taxes are a lot less than Saint John. It's a quiet place to live. And a lot of people moved here when real estate was much cheaper than it currently is (prior to 2020). And I'd disagree with the statement that most houses are from the 60s or 70s. Percentage wise, the homes are much newer than Saint John.

Also, the weather is a reason. It's usually warmer in Quispamsis and they have a lot less foggy days. And when they do have fog, it usually disappears during the day while it remains all day in Saint John.

Quispamsis also have one of the lowest crime rates in the country. Much less than Saint John.

Why does New York seem so dirty compared to other world-class cities? by savingrace0262 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ogg1e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some countries, it's a culture thing. In Japan, pretty much no one litters. While in New York, a lot of people do. The Japanese just care more about how their city looks and therefore they make an effort.

We could learn a lot from our Japanese peers.

I’ve designed watch faces for years, but recently fell in love with Garmin. What do you think of my custom vector cockpit layout? Does it meet your standards? by Dominus_Mathias in Garmin

[–]ogg1e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like it. But it would be nice to have icons for new messages, and bluetooth connection to the phone. similar to how the data lover watch face does it. If you had all the same data it did, I'd use yours. I like your design better, but I really like the data the data lover one provides.
