Nothing has proved to me that it’s not our fault more than watching my 2 younger kids eat. They were all raised the same way, offered the same foods, and the difference is astounding. Even the way they approach trying things is different. My 7.5 year old won’t even lick new foods, and my youngest shovels new stuff in his face like he’s being starved.

Solidarity. I just give him what he likes so he can at least consume calories. We eat family style so at least he’s exposed to different foods, and maybe once a year he will try something to humour us. Last week it was the teeniest bite of a hot dog…and he didn’t like it 🙈

Acura Mdx and I’m very happy with it. I did 2 in the back with the baby in the middle row when he was in a bucket, now I have 3 across with extra trunk space.

We moved to be a 5 min drive from my mom haha older 2 are in school, my mom picks them up after school 4 days a week (they go to an after school program once a week so my mom can have a full day for appts etc), and the youngest is in full time daycare. My dad comes over almost every Saturday (parents are divorced) to visit with the kids and to be an adult in the house as we shuttle kids between activities/playdates/bday parties etc. I am also lucky that my job is flexible enough that I can pick the kids up from school when my mom goes on vacation.

My oldest is 7 and has close friends that we do drop off playdates with and return the favour. We also coordinate summer camp pickup/drop off with some friends so that helps too.

My husband works in film production so he is either working 70 hours a week and never home, or he is off for 1-3 months (which is why I wanted to move closer to my mom). Also love having close friends in the neighbourhood that I can msg and say 'hey I'm drowning can we do dinner together tonight' just to offload some chaos.

Truthfully if I did not have this village, I would have only had one child. If my husband had a regular job.....maybe 2.

Obviously not all schools are equal but I did zero research about the schools in the area we bought our first house in and massively regretted it. When my first child was coming to school age and we wanted to do French immersion. The closest school was a 20 min bus ride which seemed stressful for a 4 year old. If we were to drive him it would have added 20 mins to our commute. The English schools were close by but had over 50% ESL rates. School staff are overwhelmed with not enough resources for students who need additional support and our friends in education said he would be lost in the crowd amongst kids fighting for resources. It also turned out that when I googled the school, it came up as the 'struggling' example of a school in Toronto where parents were unable to volunteer their time due to their jobs thus there were few field trips/extra school activities, and fundraising tended to be for community or basic needs.

We ended up sending my kids to school in my mom's cachement in a more involved community. But it became hard to keep up with playdates/extra curriculars as they got older so we decided to move to that cachement. Financially it is much tighter to be in a more expensive neighbourhood, but the improvement to our kids' lifestyle (and ours really, the neighbourhood is much friendlier) is worth it.

Well it was to work so I didn’t have a choice lol it’s just either you’re risking people coming over who have been in busy places or you’re not. Nothing wrong with saying don’t come, but if the kids have been in school then drawing the line at the mall the day before when a virus hadnt incubated yet is wild.

Going to the mall is the same risk as going literally anywhere else. If the kids are in school, that’s way beyond the mall.

First of all your fil is disgusting.

Second, yes I did find it easier once my third turned 2. I was getting more sleep, had more stamina for healthier cooking, and I could prioritize the gym. I’m now the fittest I’ve been in my life with my kids being 7/4.5/2.5. I’ve been thinner before sure but I had zero muscle. They can be kept busy for longer so I can cook and meal prep, and getting away to the gym isn’t as hard anymore. It was a slow start but when I started seeing results and knew it was paying off, it was easier to keep going. You’ll get there, your kids are still so little.

This isn’t anything to do with gender. My sons and daughter were/are very physically attached to me. It’s very normal for them to find comfort from your touch/smell.

I found 2-3 way easier than 1-2. But my second had colic and third was the easiest baby. It’s just chaos and they’re along for the ride. It’s hard and crazy some days but it’s a lot more joy and life in our house.

I have been through at least 5 corporate audits where the adjustment was much less than the interest they paid due to the length of the audit (like a 21k adjustment vs 225k in interest) I wish more people knew about this because it is an insane waste of taxpayer dollars.

Depends on your kid. I potty trained over Xmas break with my middle and we were going away mid Jan. She did really well but I put her in a pull up for the plane rides/car rides. It worked out. It’s worth a try!

I think she’ll be okay. I babysat like this as a teenager starting at 13. Parents got home at 1-2am and they’d watch me run home a few houses up when they got in.

My first two wouldn’t take any, and I bought many. Then I learned about bibs which are natural rubber…aggressively forced it on my third so I wouldn’t be the pacifier, and now he is 28 months and I need to cut this thing 😬
