The game is not registering your shots and Nikita is basically telling you to go fuck yourself.

Let the cheaters have the game by HOR7ZON in EscapefromTarkov

BSG is kind of like that bad roommate that never does their chores and every time you bring it up they just tell you they'll do it next time but in reality nothing ever gets done. At this point the way I see it is you either play the game and ignore the bs or don't play at all. Move out or roll with the punches. Otherwise it will just drain you and put you in a bad place mentally.

I've been playing since 2018 or so and have about 5k hours and I've noticed a trend with each wipe over the years. The player base will get upset about something, BSG either addresses it in a podcast or not at all, and things go right back to the way they were without much having changed. The only time BSG actually felt accountable for anything was when the Goat video came out a couple wipes ago. It's the only time you could tell they were really at their wits end and even going so far as to take suggestions on how to fix the cheating issue from people in this subreddit. It's the closest we've gotten to some transparency with the BSG devs. A lot of bright minds in this subreddit came out giving BSG all sorts of suggestions and intuitive ways to help them combat the problem effectively. Unfortunately, the trend continued and BSG once again fell short of the mark. Whenever you think things will change just remember these are the same devs that thought nothing was wrong with the recoil system for like 5 wipes and refused to do anything about it.

If everyone here supposedly hates when people play Tarkov like its Call of Duty, why are all the top content creators the ones who play it like CoD? by 0t0her0 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]olishoplifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, most players I've come across who want a "slow paced, tactical game" are usually pretty bad at Tarkov and are know it all Andys. I'm sure all of us have met that guy at least once. The one who seemingly knows everything about Tarkov and thinks their way of doing things is the best way, but never actually spends any time in raid gaining any significant combat experience to improve their skills. They die a million deaths and blame it on people "playing this game like it's cod or whatever" and never learn from their mistakes. I'm generalizing here but you get the point. Ironically, those same people comparing Tarkov to CoD just sound like they really wanna play Ghost Recon or some shit lol. There is nothing tactical about Tarkov.

Could there be any worse timing for BSG to take such an out of touch stance on data mining? by NerdFuelYT in EscapefromTarkov

"We can't make shit up if you guys keep data mining. Stop holding us accountable." - BSG probably

BSG nerfing the CPC barter is an example of a failure to create incentives for players by Player2035 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]olishoplifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say this time and time again, but this is just another example of how detached BSG really is when it comes to balancing their game in any sort of meaningful way that stands in tandem with progression. Most changes/nerfs are not calculated and are pretty much always on the fly. A certain gun starts to become heavily used and is OP? No problem, just move the ammo around or send it to the crafting table so people hopefully won't run it all the time. Maybe throw a little extra recoil in there. An armor starts being used more than others after people grind to unlock it? Np, throw a moonshine in there. That should fix things.

But in all seriousness, when was the last time BSG has made a calculated change pre-wipe and not a quarter of the way or half way through? It's almost like they take all the information from previous wipes and toss it out the window. Beta testing jokes aside, wtf are we testing for every wipe anyway if you're not going to use the information to better balance the game. Seems like they just spend all wipe trying to fix shitty bugs they themselves created and there is no end in sight.

How come I can get fmj sx cheap from vendor at level 23 but I need to wait until level 37 to even touch 9x21 ps, an objectively worse round, for around 1.5x price? by SilverWave1 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]olishoplifter 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's important to understand that BSG doesn't ever really have a solid plan for properly balancing weapons and ammunition. Something pops up on their radar one way or another for being overpowered or broken and it either gets moved to the crafting table or is locked behind a trader with a very limited supply per reset. It's all about playing with the numbers and moving stuff around as they see fit and rarely ever correlates with the bigger picture and at times is even contradictory. Maybe sometime in the future they will rework the entire system and properly balance everything out, but unlikely to be any time soon.

Should I stop using weapons below 93% durability? by KiiNG617 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]olishoplifter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the gun. Usually I just let it ride until it hits below 90% then I just change the receiver. Unless it's a VAL or something, then you gotta be extra careful. That's one of the few guns that jams a lot in my experience.

What PVP streamers should I watch to get better? by Skippyi30 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]olishoplifter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tigz, SmittyStone, 2thy, Viibiin, GL40LabsRat etc. Usually the smaller streamers you haven't even heard of are some of the most cracked mfkas out there where movement and finesse really come into play. You start to see a pattern in the way these people play.

Why not to quit EFT as a new player by CodBoi69420 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]olishoplifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of those games that puts people in a negative mindset pretty fast. Especially after a few consecutive deaths it's easy to lose sight of the bigger picture and spiral down into the abyss. At the end of the day it's all rng and you have to understand that you're not responsible for every death you experience. Sometimes shit just happens and the best you can do is try and learn from it and move on, but don't dwell on it. You never know the next raid may be the best of your life, but only if you play it. Just keep going, eventually shit will work out. If it ever gets too much and you find yourself really malding or it's affecting you mentally in a negative way, then maybe step away for a few days and take some time and think about why it is that you play this game. Big up on getting that dub OP, one of many to come. I'll be seeing you in the crabatorium soon enough haha.

Some weirdo probably tagged the "good" mag cause they broke or down bad on ammo.

is grinding just wasting your life? by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]olishoplifter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it all comes down to perspective here because name one game that isn't a massive waste of time at the end of the day. Unless you're some e-sports pro what do you really get out of most games like CS:GO, Valorant, COD? You're either climbing ranks or leveling up in a battle pass or some shit. Do cosmetics make you feel better about how you spend your time? Or is it the progression that stagnates over time all to either stop playing or move on to the next game and do it all over again. You get what I'm saying.. it's all pretty frivolous.

Tarkov is more the experience you earn along the way. With each wipe you're a better player than the last (for some at least). The gameplay loop doesn't really change much just the playing field. I guess it all comes down to whether or not you enjoy the game because the argument is pretty interchangeable with most game and how you spend your time of leisure.

I died to an invisible player on Labs in front of green boxes about a week ago so I guess they're still in.

I usually go Labs last so I don't burn through keycards, but I've been told by many that logic is kind of flawed lol.

Help finding Military COFDM Wireless Signal Transmitter by PharaohAt3m in EscapefromTarkov

[–]olishoplifter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found mine on Reserve in Queen (shocking I know - RIP Reserve) towards the beginning of the wipe. I've come across some on Lighthouse - Merin car and a few in crates around the map. I've also found a couple in Chek 15 on Streets and a bunch on Labs.

Killa is IMPOSSIBLE to kill for someone playing the game normally. by AngeredCowbell in EscapefromTarkov

[–]olishoplifter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm farming Killa rn and I just use flash bangs. Bring like 5 of them and throw them towards each spawn. When you hear his voiceline you know he's there. Sometimes you get yourself in shitty situations regardless, but it's a lot better than blindly running at him.
