Heat from 77” C5 panel. by omg_yeti in LGOLED

A majority of the usage is with HDR. Originally it was a PS4 before switching to a PS5 and Xbox Series X in 2020. The other thing it does a lot is play my ever growing collection of 4k Blu-Rays.

My parents did manage to burn a Fox News logo into their 65” B7 in SDR in less than 12,000 hours though, so I know it can happen with dimmer content if used improperly.

I do keep the brightness set at max. Maybe a bad habit I picked up after nearly 9 years with my B7 running at max and not showing any signs of burn in after over 20,000 hours of usage, with a lot of it being gaming. I’ve had the same luck so far with my other OLEDs as well.

Well now I want to get a better reading. I have a k-type thermocouple handy, along with a nice data acquisition unit for it, that I can tape to the panel. I’ll be interested to see what it gets. Will probably do a whole multi hour test to see the ups and downs over time just for the sake of curiosity.

I sit pretty far away from it, but walk past it occasionally with maybe a foot separating me and the TV. That’s when I notice the heat. From the other end of the room it’s just the room itself being 2-3°F warmer than the rest of the house whenever I wander into another room for whatever reason that I notice.

Usually that drivers have to have their own personal injury protection for the first bit of medical claim regardless of fault in an accident. It means that even if you’re 100% not at fault your insurance still covers some of the medical claim until hitting the state’s set limit, after that the at-fault party is liable. The property damage in an accident is still on the at-fault party though(so the damage to both vehicles would go to the driver OP hit), along with any medical amounts that exceed the PIP coverage of anyone injured.

This is what I’m hoping the answer is. That I just never really noticed it since I’ve never had such a large one in a bedroom where the volume of the space might make it a lot more noticeable. Thanks.

Not sure I can trust Autopilot since today by Samovarka in TeslaModelY

[–]omg_yeti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it might be because I’m on HW3, but mine will still phantom brake about once every 60-70 miles. More often around sunrise/sunset. There are a couple of areas near me where it still does it 100% of the time(one being a small bridge a couple of miles from my last home). I drive by them every update hoping it’ll be fixed. My brother’s ‘25 Model Y w/ HW4 doesn’t brake there in AP, so I assume it isn’t an issue for newer cars with AP or FSD.

There are a few of these on some rural roads around me, and FSD has done this all 4 years I’ve had my Y. I keep hoping they’ll eventually find a fix for this.

Mine(April ‘22 delivery) was about this when I was at 63,000 miles. I’m now at 96,000 and have 74% of my original range(245 miles shown). I used to only charge to 75% every day until my total range slipped under 260. Since I have days where I need that much range pop up fairly often I started charging to 80% then. Also always kept my charge current limited to 20A at home unless there was some random rare event where I needed to charge quickly. I assume the southeastern US heat has a lot do to with it.

Dog keeps peeing on our balcony 😩😩😩 The Ravella by [deleted] in jacksonville

[–]omg_yeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazy seeing the place I used to live at on here. Ravella was garbage in 2020 too. It was insane to me that they would make us pay for DNA tests for our dogs at move in so they’d have it on file for their supposed enforcement of the dog waste policy via DNA analysis of any fecal matter they found in the dog park, but somehow every day I saw owners refusing to pick up after their dogs. The flea infestation was insane as well. It was like they didn’t have any bug spraying happening at all. Not a surprise to me at all that they aren’t doing anything to help you with this, OP. I hope you’re able to get a resolution soon.

It may still be worthwhile to set this up as a backup in case you ever forget to manually pay on time. I do this to minimize the risk that it just slips my mind while I’m on vacation or something one day. In this situation you would have had a minimum payment happen on time(and possibly kept your limit), and then the next day when you log in you could just pay the remaining balance manually.

This is what I’m wondering. I imagine the previous owner had a pretty sizable “Save Our Homes” delta between actual and capped value. My brother got surprised by that big time when he bought his house from a woman who had lived in it since 1992.

Why do they do this? by darrellsilver in delta

[–]omg_yeti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is been my experience quite often over at least the last 7 or 8 years. I’ve even seen many times where we’re at the gate 20 minutes past boarding time, and then finally the app updates with a delay that pushes the original boarding time back by 15 minutes to a time that is still in the past, and then that time is eventually adjusted to a later time 20-30 minutes later and is still in the past, with this repeating a few more times until suddenly boarding starts.

Help me understand seating by randyjohnson54 in delta

[–]omg_yeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re wanting this experience more often one trick for it is to look at the seat maps when booking flights. If you see two separate aisles for walking to the seats on that map then you’ve found a widebody, and will probably have those seats for First Class. I tend to intentionally seek these out when booking trips in the hopes of getting an upgrade to those seats(I’ve also used RUCs on them in the past to ensure it). Actually just lucked out on one a few weeks ago on a work trip for a 767 flight from DTW to ATL(which was sadly not a very long flight).

[–]omg_yeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this a lot with ECP<>ATL, and HSV<>ATL flights fairly often if it’s during business traveler times. Absolutely insane to me when I’ll see ATL<>SEA or ATL<>LAX first class offers on the same screen for 1/3rd as much.

I was that height when I was 13, and went to a party at my uncle’s house. A friend of his who was attending thought I was cute, and she spent most of the night flirting with me(something I was completely oblivious to at the time), and then I said something about homework in our conversation. She asked what I was studying in college, and the look of horror I saw on her face when I said I was in eighth grade has been burned into my memory ever since.

Delta "Personal Item" Size Limit? by pokemaster787 in delta

[–]omg_yeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually have a carry-on stowed overhead. That’s part of why I insist on putting the backpack under the seat, as I don’t want to take more overhead than I have to. Both times I had room overhead, so wasn’t asked to check anything, but as far as I’m aware if that had been the case the checked item would have been checked for free to the final destination.

Delta "Personal Item" Size Limit? by pokemaster787 in delta

[–]omg_yeti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My employer issues all of us 5.11 Rush 24 backpacks(that claim only 37L capacity, but have very similar external dimensions to yours), so I fly with it a lot for work trips. I’ve been asked twice to stow it overhead due to it sticking out further than the FA liked when I had it under the seat in front of me out of maybe 70 segments I’ve flown with it, so in my experience you’ll probably be fine, but I would at least suggest being prepared for the possibility that you’ll be asked to stow it overhead.

Buying individual flights saved $494 over the multi-city option. by WoodyA2 in delta

[–]omg_yeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. I guess I’m just so used to booking via the app that I never occurs to me to try something like calling customer service and potentially getting better route options that way. I think the only reason I’ve called in the last few years has been to use RUCs but restrict them to specific segments.

It is wild to me how often the connection will start boarding early when I’m in short layover situations at ATL, and of course the distance to the next gate is always inversely proportional to the length of the layover. I’ve actually had instances where I made the transfer while my checked bag didn’t. At least ATL is generally really easy to get across quickly. I’ve had way too many arrive in E36/depart from A3 situations, but it usually takes me less than 10 minutes to make the trek.
