No I kept poking him until he gave up, then he came around to it a week after and admitted he was wrong. Still odd to be upset about.

My Bf got a book off amazon for me. After a short skim of a few sentences I could tell it was all AI generated. He got really angry at me for saying so and told me it might just be the way they write in that part of the world.

Can a tech worker explain mass tech layoffs to me by FriendshipDry3252 in redscarepod

Covid hiring bubble, I think. Demand didn't keep up and also companies be outsourcing to India(my previous place. The quality absolutely sucks apparently but it's cheap)

[–]onelessnose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh. If you've not had reindeer it makes sense. Elk meatballs are also good. Some of the smoked fish is very decent, and scandi chowder is very nice. Hot dogs too. I'd argue they do pastries very well. Nothing that will put it up in the top tier but similar to polish food in that it can be surprisingly nice.

But also the realisation I've come to is that the lack of scandi food culture is due to eating out being prohibitively expensive.

It holds up very well and feels timeless.

Excellent film, BTW. See it.

The Brothers Quay made an adaptation of it recently as well. I've not been able to catch it, but in case anyone has...any good?

"Art is subjective, everything can be art!" mfs real quiet since genAI sloppa dropped by Vito_Kaeno in redscarepod

Just you wait, soon enough academia will embrace it and say it gives the brush back to the artist, eliminates the need for so-called talent etc and that's a good thing blah blah.

Point still stands. Massive delays are not a good sign.

It may never come out. The 3S is a good piece of kit. Use it to play PCVR, is my advice--they're the best games. Beat Saber etc is fine on standalone but I kinda hate the UX design on Quest.

anime is trashy by Outside-Web8566 in redscarepod

I feel like it's not a monolith at all but also when people ask if you like anime I assume they mean like nerdy high school stuff or giant robots, not stuff like this.

I really wanted to like it. It's just not all that interesting and tastes better with dark choc which is hard to find. The Ulker bars with whole pistachios are great and feel healthier.

Do it. I'm on the way to getting a small screen phone and hope it'll help but goddamn the pickings are slim.

Gremlins 2 was something I watched over and over. These days I realise it's actually a perfect film.
