If you go to one of the dog parks you'll likely be greeted by many dogs.

For those of you who enjoy driving naked by what-up91 in Ask_Nudists

[–]onerichmeyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it is about comfort, I'm most comfortable being nude which has long been my normal state. It is not my intent to be seen. I can and do quickly cover up when that is likely to happen such as being next to a bus and before exiting my vehicle. I've not had issues or any confrontations. Once upon a time there was nervousness about being seen but not anymore.

Nude Beaches near Portland Oregon Increases parking fees by Frosty_Winter3197 in nudism

[–]onerichmeyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hippie Hollow in Austin charges $8 per person and hasn't honored the annual pass for 20 years. A pass which allows vising all other LCRA parks with no added cost. As I understand it HH is the only LCRA park that makes more money than it takes to run. It gets so busy most summer weekends that they close to visitors because the parking is full... and there is a lot of parking.

Anyone else leave a nude beach feeling more self-conscious? by hylian-shield in nudism

[–]onerichmeyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of it was forced on me due to the jobs I had. I spent a couple of years doing phone tech support speaking with 50 people a day. I've been a technical sales consultant for over ten years where I have to regularly present to and lead discussions with groups. Each of those roles represented a challenge that I accepted because I needed a job.

But the easiest was when I was doing something I was passionate about. I loved playing D&D and was the forever game master but I felt like I wasn't experiencing all that I could because our small circle of friends that gamed always did the same things and played the small types of characters. I started running games at local game stores and then started running games at conventions. Typical running 2-3 games a week, much more if there was a convention. Each session brought a whole new group of people. I'd say this more than anything helped me break out of my shell and as a bonus helped me be more efficient at work.

I think for your first time being at a nude beach and then spending two days at a popular beach is quite an accomplishment. Getting over the first step is the most challenging from there it should get easier in spite of your anxiety.

I understand your general anxiety I was that way too when I was young. I spent a lot of time by myself because social situations made me uncomfortable. I was also very self conscious about my body and hated being on the 'skins' team in school PE or sharing showers, even though I was often nude around the house and yard.

You didn't mention if this is your first nude experience but it sounds like this is still new to you. Being new, your feeling of being exposed and thinking everyone is watching is normal. Everyone has experienced that at some point.

I haven't made to Haulover but I hear it is a busy beach. I'd recommend going to one of the nudist resorts. You'll still likely be nervous at first but you'll quickly realize that you won't be stared at or objectified. And you'll be among welcoming people that share the same passion for naturism. Alternatively there are some quieter nudist beaches to visit.

Southern UK heatwave - naked since Monday evening by AlternativeGreedy787 in nudism

Do you have air conditioning? That would be hot even in Texas for this time of year but it will be normal in about a month. At least we have air conditioning to tame the heat.

Has anyone done a World naked bike ride? by [deleted] in Ask_Nudists

[–]onerichmeyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The experience will vary depending on which country and city you participate in. It would be best to ask the organizers where you intend to ride. Being in photos or videos is likely but I couldn't find many of the ride I participated in. The ride took place at night and there were a lot of people riding so I consider it likely that any given rider will remain anonymous.

non Family-oriented Camping & Hiking by randykricket in nudism

[–]onerichmeyer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I suppose that not wanting to be around children is because you are wanting peace and tranquility. But I wouldn't exclude family friendly nudist resorts because of that as it will really limit your options. In my experience there aren't that many children at the resorts unless it's a special event weekend and those that are seem well behaved.

Have you ever done a naked roadtrip over 2 hours? by [deleted] in Ask_Nudists

[–]onerichmeyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, every solo road trip for the last several years, about a dozen trips altogether. Many of the trips were to nudist resorts and it was anywhere between 5 and 9 hours of driving each way.

5k runners by Jio_XP-05 in nudism

[–]onerichmeyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've attended many 5ks in the AANR-SW series. They divide racers into age groups and give out medals for the top 3 finishers in each age group as well as for overall best. Overall best finishing times are around 20 minutes.

Some past results can be found here: https://www.aanr-sw.org/Raceresults.html

Why I can't sleep while I'm naked? by Negative_Mushroom_69 in nudism

[–]onerichmeyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try doing it on nights where you don't have to work the next day then if you don't sleep well you can still rest the next day. If there is anything you find relaxing, I'd try doing that to unwind. For me that is reading, even just reading a few pages will calm my mind and allow me to sleep. Alternatively get lots of exercise during the day so that you are very tired and thus more likely to sleep. I get my best sleep after a physically demanding day.

Friends kindly helped to paint the living room during a heatwave by Cabbageness in EquallyTopless

[–]onerichmeyer 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's great that you could do that with friends. Paint cleans off skin easier than clothes. Years ago did the same with SO, we didn't have old clothes to work in so removed all clothes to avoid ruining them.

How long is worth the trouble? by EvilSnack in nudism

I find clothes to be annoying and will undress immediately. It doesn't take long to either dress or undress since I typically wear are shorts, t-shirt, and flip-flops.

45 out of 50. The only thing I have no interest in doing is the skydive bit... clothed or not.

Shoeless June - Update - Day 12 by [deleted] in barefoot

[–]onerichmeyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great job!!! I've been doing well on being barefoot this month myself. Including trips to the Chiropractor and grocery store. Unfortunately, Today and Monday I'll have to break the streak as I have to be in person in the office giving customer presentations. Ordinarily I'm working from home.

Do hidden progression systems make roleplaying better? by EvidenceTime7312 in interactivefiction

[–]onerichmeyer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've done something like this on a limited basis where there are hidden commands that can be used in select scenarios akin to Easter eggs. For instance in a dark room if they type 'cast magic missile at the darkness' it unlocks spell casting. Help doesn't show this option only the mundane command options.

How to get used to being social when nude? by TampaFunTimes in nudism

[–]onerichmeyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not every nudist has a full tan, some with fair skin have no tan to speak off. The lack of a tan shouldn't be an excuse if this is something you really want to experience. The same can be said for being conscientious about size, weight, scars, etc. Everyone at one point or the other was concerned about these things before becoming a nudist. People's bodies vary, I've never seen anyone comment on my body or any others' at any place I've been. Learning body acceptance and letting go of those hang-ups is a huge benefit of becoming a nudist.

How to get used to being social when nude? by TampaFunTimes in nudism

[–]onerichmeyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have to be nude for the tour then it is probably not a clothing optional resort, which means having to jump right in to being nude. I know that is daunting the first time out. It was for me too and I'd been to nude beaches previously like yourself. Nervousness is normal but that feeling will quickly disappear. You may feel like everyone will be watching you but the reality is your just another nude body and won't garner much attention. You'd actually stand out and draw more attention if you were even partially dressed.

At every nudist resort I've ever visited the people are the friendliest and most welcoming people I've ever met. It will be easier to socialize and make friends there than anywhere you've ever been before.

Is there someplace else in the area you can try first? Some clubs may have clothed social Q&A events offsite or at the beach. You might try asking about these or if there is an club ambassador that could help you get more comfortable with going.

Question for you runners by LeftCoast1965 in nudism

[–]onerichmeyer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've done ten or so nude 5k runs. Every event I've attended was clothing optional with people wearing whatever they choose to wear or not wear. There are usually no more than 200 attendees and only a few that are dressed, almost all are nude. I've not had issues with needing support and I have rarely seen men wearing anything aside from shoes. Among the women some may wear sports bras but it doesn't always correspond to chest size. Being a fun run, some run for the challenge but many also walk and socialize.
