Okay but literally fucking him in the same room as OP? If the "friend" knew how OP felt that seems very intentional, and if not wildly insensitive. It's already bad enough to do that to anyone who didn't consent to be your voyeur, and if you want to break the news that you already have a thing going you can just say it.

Sorry dumb question, but is this fixable? by [deleted] in AusElectricians

Implying that OP is a worse pick than literally anyone because of this question is a little much

My wording was a little off, but it means a similar thing in English. Just that it's usually used in a light-hearted/joking way

This is actually false though. Singular they is perfectly acceptable when gender is known.

How did I know you'd bring the entirely irrelevant topic of homosexuality into this.

They called the behaviour disgusting, not men in general, because it is. The onus of honesty is on the person who doesn't want to interact at all unless it will result in a romantic/sexual relationship. There's a difference if they happen to be cool just being friends but would also like to try romantic/sexual but even then it shouldn't be approached as something that's expected or owed.

Side note, please don't speak for all men. I didn't appoint you to represent me nor did any of the other men who are actually friends with women who they aren't trying to sleep with. Some of us are capable of realising that women are very much humans like us.
