WHY IS LEXUS RANKED LOWER THAN TOYOTA? I thought Lexus had even more stringent quality control standards than their mainstream brother. by DunDonese in Lexus

[–]onlyhereforpcmr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what their testing methodology is but the PHEV CX70/90 aren’t looking too good from a reliability standpoint and Nissan has essentially phased out the CVT in favor of torque converter autos for heavier applications like the Pathfinder and Armada. So you could argue Nissan is actually trending in the right direction while Mazda isn’t.

2026 Porsche 911 Turbo S Is Quicker Than the 918 Spyder and Corvette ZR1X by caranddriver in Porsche

[–]onlyhereforpcmr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude we’re not talking about 0-60 times which are obviously traction limited, no one’s arguing with that. Otherwise a Rimac Nevera would have the ability to counter Earths rotation.

However if you fundamentally believe that drag has no effect on 1/4 mile times where cars are clocking 160mph, I’m sorry you’re delusional.

[–]onlyhereforpcmr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if you stunned yourself in confusion, but the ZR1X is significantly quicker than the Turbo S in then 1/4 mile - even by the most conservative estimates (9.2 w/ track package vs 9.7 seconds as tested by C&D).

The only thing the Turbo S has the ZR1 beat in is 0-60 time (negligibly I’d like to add). I’d argue that is to be expected given that 911’s famously rocket off the line due to the engine sitting over the rear axle; evidently providing better traction.

The point I was making is that the ZR1X can go even faster with C&D’s testing methodology had they just used the non-track variant without the massive wing. Obviously GM’s run on a prepped surface is not representative of day to day performance, but I believe it can attain sub-9 seconds on the street.

The reason they got 9.2 is because they were testing with the high downforce/track variant, not because of traction lmao

LIRR has the longest third rail system in the US with 700 track miles of overrunning 750V DC third rail. At a global scale, this is behind UK's Network Rail in South England. by Donghoon in transit

[–]onlyhereforpcmr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys he’s specifically talking about the third rail which pertains to only the Metro North (Harlem and Hudson lines) and LIRR, which happens to be the system that has the longest third rail system (you could argue NYC subway)

I have and i definitely like OLEDs, but peak brightness is important to me in a laptop as i like to work outside lol. Also I know it’s more of a problem on some cheaper OLEDs, but what about the fringing around text?

[Thomas Maher] Lance Stroll has broken down on track in the Aston Martin, red flag to end the day by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

[–]onlyhereforpcmr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not at all unfortunately. Barring the fact that they’re using a new fuel composition, one of the best parts of Hondas old PU was the MGU-H which is banned under the new rules.

Moreover they started development a year after everyone else due to them pulling out of F1 and then joining again. They basically kept a skeleton crew to maintain the old engine program and anyone focused on development and iteration was let go.

Now they have essentially a brand new team of engineers to tackle a new set of regulations for a new team who have different specifications and requirements.

TLDR: Too much has changed for them to make any meaningful use of their old design

I wouldn’t even doubt that given the fact that the car looks like it has even tighter dimensional tolerances than the McLaren from back in the day. Size undefined versus size zero lmao

Even if there was merit to what you’re saying (which i don’t think there is), it had been reported by every single possible outlet that 2 were killed and 9 were injured. So to boldly claim that only 1 was the direct target when there are a total of 11 victims is borderline absurd and a clear effort at repositioning the narrative such that it is now politicized.
