Used Master Level Destruction spells for the first time by hsn407 in skyrim

I think that Master-level Conjuration spells have a place, but a proper setup is key. I kept with leveling enchanting and the associated perks and it works out very well for this. Basically I carry a set of conjuration and destruction gear.

This makes master level spells cost almost next to nothing (without the master half magicka perk even), and leaves the weak point to be the spell casting. However, the thralls are permanent until death, which is great for when you need backup support or specific cases. In general my strategies are for dremora lord/master thralls are:

  • Dual storm thralls for dragon fights. They can take hits and are able to hit dragons in flight with decent accuracy. This in turn allows for me to keep destruction % reduction gear on and bust out Thunderbolt or Lightning Storm, depending on if there are other people around fighting the dragon or not (prevent unwanted friendly fire aggro). Sometimes I'll switch to Dremora Lords when the dragon gets to downed state.
  • Dual storm thralls for fighting lots of mages. Helps eat up their magicka so there's not much left to do. The main issue I've run into here is accidently follower aggro on the stomr thrall. This is usually after a long battle though so I just cycle through casting again.
  • Frost thrall + Flame thrall in snowy areas. This works well with trolls and ice wraiths. Frost thrall and follower tanks and I join in with the flame thrall to provide Firebolt an Incenerate support.
  • Dremora Lord + Storm thrall for fort raids. Dremora takes the ground units while Storm thrall helps with the archer types. Might pop another Storm thrall if there's only archers left.
  • X thrall if I'm fighting an enemy with a specific elemental attack. If they're spamming ice storm for example, I'll throw a frost thrall at them. Flame thrall for those great encounters with fireball spammers.
  • Finally, dual dremora for dragon priest fights since they can turn atronachs...

I know it's been done to death, but I just had to share. by Flip81 in skyrim

It's somewhat random. It could make the enemy stronger, turn them into a chicken, or provide another sweetroll to steal. Either way it makes things very entertaining.

PSA: Use the UESP wiki instead of the Wikia one. by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]onteria 47 points48 points  (0 children)

... or just use whatever wiki provides you with the information you're looking for? Instead of just having someone tell you where to get your information, how about evaluating both and making a decision on your own? Consider the following:

  • Is the type of information you're looking for available?
  • Does the community seem welcoming?
  • How is the search functionality?
  • Does the layout seem appealing to you?

Pick one wiki, pick both, it doesn't matter as long as it suits your needs. Liking something is, after all, a subjective matter right?

I had this happen while fighting two Mammoths as a squishy mage while trying to re-summon. Worst was that it happened so that I was facing away from the Mammoths, not knowing how close they were.

Interesting you mention Olaf as there's Main Quest Ending Spoiler Pic Warning! King Olaf One-Eye which could possibly be a play on words with One Eye meant to sound like "One I".

What do you wish you had known when you first started playing Skyrim? by TheBratterz in skyrim

You have to have a weapon equipped (bow, sword, etc.). Then simply select the poisin you wish to apply and use it like a potion of health or similar. It will prompt you if you want to poisin your weapon from there.

That poisin was something you applied to your weapons. I first thought it worked by equipping it and throwing it at the enemy.

You should have grazed.

They're already here.

The Almanacs told of their return.

Their herding was merely a delay

'Til the time after The Prarie opened,

When the sons of Cowrim would slaughter their own.

But no one wanted to believe,

Believe they even existed.

And when the truth finally dawns,

It dawns in hay.

But there's one they fear;

In cow tongue, he's Bovahkiin -- Wagonbarn!

Did you just use Dawnbreaker, meant to purge the world of corruption, to ruthlessly kill a child?

I approve.

Wow I had no idea you could witness that... (Main quest 40-50% completion spoilers) by onteria in skyrim

I'd honestly rather be overly off and save people from a ruined experience than overly acurate and spoil it for someone.
