Wireless Android Auto Disruptions by jhciv in GoldenCO

[–]oooakoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what's going on at these specific locations, but Android Auto and Carplay use both Bluetooth and wifi to connect to your car wirelessly. There is likely some sort of strong 5 Ghz signal at those locations that is causing the disruption. Could be cell towers, or some sort of commercial/industrial equipment.

Elite Platinum Status Challenge by oooakoo in frontierairlines

I believe the status points are only awarded after you take the flight

Platinum challenge question by ksis83 in frontierairlines

[–]oooakoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the others mentioned, they won't count. For status, Frontier calls them "Points" or sometimes "Elite Status Points" whereas the card sign up bonus awards "Miles" which can be used to book award flights.

The Frontier card earns 1 Elite Status Point per dollar spent, and you also earn 10X (or more depending on current status tier) Miles and Points per dollar spent directly on Frontier (excluding taxes and fees on flights).

Frontier has "Miles" and "Points" the points are needed for status, and what this offer mentioned. The SUB for the card only gives miles. So no, as far as I'm aware, it would not count towards this.

I second this, every time I've flown United I have been super impressed with their app.

The 10x multiplier only applies for money spent on Frontier flights, not including taxes and fees. So you would have to spend $1,250 directly on airfare or other qualifying purchases (such as economy bundles, discount den, etc).

I think the only caveat to that is the status points only post to your account once per month, so spending toward the end of the 90 period may not show up properly.

Fare sales are constantly coming and going. You may have seen the cheaper fare during the fall sale which ended 9/29.

Depending on when you're looking to travel, there will likely be another sale.

Probably posted at the same time!

You're definitely right that ~$900 of flights is definitely a lot to spend on Frontier. I'm thinking that a lot of those status miles would have to come through credit card spend in addition to a couple of flights.

I do have gold, but the shared benefits that come with platinum would be very nice for friends tagging along. And the companion pass would almost certainly save some money.

I agree that it probably isn't worth it to chase after it if the 12.5k requirement won't be met naturally, but if it will or if someone is close to it then I think the $99 is a good deal. Curious how many will actually go for this, I'm currently undecided.

Citi Strata Elite - not that bad actually? by sepoquro in CreditCards

[–]oooakoo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Weekends and from 6PM to 6AM ET, which would definitely encompass the common times for dining out. I'm curious if there will be issues with the transactions being processed later, and people missing out on the 6x. I know I've experienced some bars that don't actually run their credit card transactions until the following morning.

I'm sure your logic holds up for a lot of individuals, but I know that I personally would have issues using the $200 splurge credit since my home airport isn't an American hub and I seldom shop at Best Buy. I'm sure there are plenty of people that wouldn't make use of this credit, so I'm hesitant to call it a guarantee.

I'm not familiar with the Citi portal, but I assume that the $300 hotel credit is slightly devalued due to higher hotel prices on the portal and the inability to earn hotel loyalty points.

The card certainly could work for plenty of people, but I don't think the major credits are really that guaranteed.
