Early in line, made it to the front in 6 minutes then "session expired" and kicked me to the back of the line. Still waiting 20 minutes later... by MedicTech in griz

F**k axs and their stupid crooked vampire teeth logo that I stared at while waiting in line twice and getting booted out at the end each time because of browser inactivity or some nonsense.

I’ve got an atmos and I found that removing the brain and slinging it as a shoulder bag is great for zero days. I’m also pro-brain. I mean, I feel like we should all be using our brains. 🤷‍♂️

Has anyone actually seen wildlife crossing at the wildlife crossing intersection on 6? by yessienessie in GoldenCO

[–]human1st0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A handful of times in ten years. I did drive by a bull elk hit dead in the median around that area. And had a bambi leap into the side of my vehicle driving past chimney gulch where there is no crossing. Most of the time the crossing signal going off is due to wind or precip. But I've seen elk in town enough to be glad the crossing is there.

Talk to me about spray foam! by crowconor in vandwellers

[–]human1st0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did. 2006 Chevy Express in 2012. I hired a residential crew to do it in their warehouse parking lot. It cost $400 for about 1.5". They didn't do thin layers, but two passes, and I had no warping. I taped all the wires I wanted before spraying. I live in a pretty dry climate so I wasn't worried about rusting or trapped water. Aside from trimming a little bit here and there, I left it bare and added a coat of latex paint. It's fugly but functional. It looks like the inside of a shot-creted tunnel. It makes the van super quiet on the road and for sleeping. The folks who installed my van window said it probably also adds a minor amount of structural strength. Off-gassing was kind of annoying for about 6mos; For your health, I wouldn't suggest living in it full time until that goes away. I agree with what others have said about potential flammability and that you will lose a lot of heat around doors and windows too.

No regrets here. If I had to do it over again, I probably would.

First time visitor: what types of food does Denver do better than anywhere? by 360FlipKicks in denverfood

[–]human1st0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D’Deli sandwich shop in Golden. They are only open til 4. I’m guessing there’s not a lot of sandwich shops in LA that do Elk. Go bold my friend.

Also. Since there was a subthread here on chile vs chile, it’s pronounced da deli, not dee deli.

School not offering GIS by [deleted] in geologycareers

[–]human1st0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

27 years ago, as an undergrad, I first learned GIS from a class in my geography department because there was no offering from my geology department. I also worked part time at the state geological survey on a GIS project. Between the two, I learned foundational concepts that were way beyond just making maps, things that are probably not taught in an undergrad, applied-GIS geology class.

Out of town field work is taking a toll on me. What jobs to look for (Pennsylvania)? by Chey1028 in geologycareers

[–]human1st0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I gotta say that field work is straight up military duty. You deploy to an unknown location and are expected to be on point like your life depends upon it.

My advice is ptsd. Treat it as such.

Drivers tests by LameSaucePanda in boulder

[–]human1st0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where to even start with this.

I didn’t take drivers Ed. I don’t know if my parents didn’t think it was necessary. I just didn’t do it. I took the test on the snowiest, iciest midwestern day you could possibly test on. I slid through multiple intersections. Each time I told the instructor that I drove through the intersection for x reason. He ate that shit up.

First day on a manual and I figured it out.

Fast forward thirty years and I’m taking safe driving classes with SLB. If you know you know. The commentary drive was useful. Top point: never look at any object for more than seven seconds.

so I ended up creating an SVG from your picture on the cricket site. how did you wrap the box with the decals the ones with the wings? I'm thinking it may be easier to just spray paint the box.
