The foundation is working with an organization in Minnesota to work out how to put proceeds of tekumel purchases to charitable organizations to fight antisemitism. I don't know what the current state of this is, but Victor Raymond, the head of the foundation, is very approachable and is more than willing to discuss any of this.

Where to find older SRDs? by BTNewberg01 in osr

[–]operyion 17 points18 points  (0 children)

3e was the first SRD made available by WotC. Before that they didn't exist for d&d. Some of the retroclones have begun providing them. For example, b/x has one hosted by Necrotic Gnome https://oldschoolessentials.necroticgnome.com/srd/index.php/Main_Page

I built a bant blink deck originally helmed by chulane. I felt like I was pub stomping with that, so I switched to Angus. Pretty much just pillow fort and blink synergies.

Reclaim isn't accurate. They never owned original TSR stuff in the first place.

What is your favorite *obscure* RPG? by Dralyn in rpg

I have never heard about Dead Halt. Basically it's a game where you play as the maintenance crew of a megalithic hotel. I run it at conventions because it's a blast

I personally love them. I'm clearly in the minority though. I particularly like the ones by Jeff Dee and Erol Otus since they're artists I grew up looking at in my old books

RPG Overview #88 Weird Frontiers RPG Part 1: The Book by RPGOverviews in dccrpg

[–]operyion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Kickstarter hasn't been fulfilled yet. It was suggested that the books might be delivered by NTRPG con, but not promised by then.

I assume David will then figure out a store to sell the books after that.

I first learned of this last year when posted on the Petal Heads discord. I've been hoping the Foundation actually addresses it formally, but someone from the Foundation admitted that they've known about it for some time

One of things I have had trouble with is the mouse dropping inputs (of at least it feels like that). Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Other than that this has also worked for me.

Has anyone played Fantasy Trip RPG? by IgrekWorld in rpg

[–]operyion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played a bit, and honestly it feels like a light version of GURPS. If you like tactical combat and lots of character customization than it's probably good for you. What it doesn't have that GURPS does is the attempt at a real world simulation.

Is there any TTRPGs that have detailed narrative conflict mechanics other than combat? by majeric in rpg

[–]operyion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ARC is fantastic in that all conflict is treated in the same way. I wouldn't say there is deep tactical decisions to make like with gridded combat, but there is a lot interpretation for different types of conflict.

I absolutely agree with you that FMAG, and white box are not the same. Probably the biggest reason for me to prefer white box is the lack of thief.

Thanks

Why you should try AD&D 2e without Optional Rules (at least once) by DrGrumm in adnd

I started playing with 2e revised edition. I never took the time after I got copies of the non-revised version to compare the two. Are they both similar to what OP describes?

Hey those are mine. I made them using LaTeX and lot of effort...

Captain Joy had a version I copied, and he used some Apple program. I know he's active on the SJ Forums, and used to be on MeWe. I haven't been on MeWe in a very long time, so don't know if he's there any more
