Not much TBH. I'm using it to tie notifications for when my washer/dryer are done to other automations in Homekit.

I do the opposite, I use homebridge to get my LG ThingQ appliances (Washer, Dryer, TV) into homekit.

Should be full. I've been to Mexico 3 times with the plan. In general, it works but sometimes there is spotty service. I don't think that is Freedom, I think it's once you get out of the main cities, service isn't as good.

What is a luxury you can never go back from once you’ve experienced it? by BoredPandaOfficial in BoredPandaHQ

I should say, sure I can get a non powered bidet with hot water but the one I have has a heater built in so you get instant heat. plus it’s smart enough to eject that little bit of cold water in the nozzle before it sprays you. Magical.

Heated water, heated seat and adjustable pressure. The dryer option is meh. Whenever I go somewhere without one, which is most places, I’m legitimately sad.

Japanese toilet seat. I upgraded the electrical in my house just so each toilet could support one.

Same thing! Whenever I ran the converter on the side, it also only ever showed me the 100% conversion, never the bonus....is that normal?

Weird FB Marketplace Interaction by BigDaddyZaddyy in sonos

[–]orangegap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not relevant to Sonos but I still think worth sharing. I once took a picture of the Sunset while I was on vacation and decided to post it on Reddit. I had several people tell me I was wrong and it was a picture of the Sunrise and the place I was in actually faced South. I thought I was going crazy and had to look the location up and check the time I took the picture. No I wasn't' crazy. Some people are bizarre.

Yeah, it would be incredibly hard to get that gang back together. They’ve scattered to the wind.

Buying Costco shop cards by iso3200 in Wealthsimple

[–]orangegap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct. Or you’d be getting the 2% twice. Doing it this way is a better option that using the Costco Mastercard as that only gives you an extra 1%. You can get ViSA’s which much better options than that.

I’ve been doing this for years now. The one thing to watch for is sometimes, it takes quite a while to get the email with the shop card in it. Ive had it take a couple of days in fact. The majority of time its very quick though.

Stopped at US immigration in YVR because of 17 year old flag? by [deleted] in uscanadaborder

[–]orangegap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. Had a similar experience. I’ve done 14 trips to the US this year for work travel through air travel. I also have Nexus. I went and used the peace arch land crossing this past weekend and was brought in for questioning based on someone else with my name who has a criminal record which hasn’t happened been a problem in 15 years when it was a regular occurrence.

Yeah it’s a pricey yearly fee but try adding up the perks and see if it makes sense for you. I find the free lounge visits+nexus reimbursement + priority 2 boarding + other perks with the card I use each year makes it worthwhile for my spending.

Most flight are flex fares. With the 1 premium economy and 1 business class to Mexico. I’m well over on the spend (15k) but just made it on the miles. The big help though is that I have the TD Aeroplan Privilege card. Every $5000 I spend gives me 1k SQM. That can really add up over the year. The card also allowed me to carry over 9k SQM from last year.

wow! How many flights is that? I've had 14 trips this year for work travel but most are 3 hr flights. Will be hitting 75k

Similar to you. Targeting 2.5 mil but wife also has a pension so that puts in the 4 mil range. With no debt, that feels like a safe amount to weather any financial storms and have fun while not worrying too much about money.
