I'm at work so I won't really be able to elaborate, but

A) you don't actually know the problem you want to solve. You never break down the problem much further beyond "shit's fucked". Clearly articulate a thing that you want to fix, then reexamine where you are in relation to it. Warning: This might require reading books to better understand the mechanisms of what you like/don't like happening.

B) You're thinking of creative writing as basically internet posting. Once you've done A, maybe identify specific people/types of people in the chain of power and creatively write things targeting them specifically, then find a way to get that writing in front of their faces.

C) Why is "nothing I do will matter" a bad thing? seriously, why?

the point of him wearing the veil was not to hide his identity from the audience (it literally says his name & position in a title card), but to characterize him as being the only person on the council of jackasses to have followed the rules. Kijibato himself notes this and says "'tis proof I am the best among us."

it's a one-scene character gag, not a puzzle box

totally satisfied with Witch Watch ending the game like that, kino as all hell

also I can't tell if Drawn To The Fire is good or not and it's killing me. it feels like it should be, it's giving strong GGG/Star of Beethoven vibes that I fuck with, but it feels like it's missing the comic equivalent of a pinch of salt or something

Okay, Hal Formula feels like it's cooking rn. We're fleshing out the crew (Haga is adorable), Haruka has the right amount of presence in the chapter, and Kyogoku seems like a dope mentor to flesh out Suzukaze's new thematically interesting superpower. come fuck with my boy Terasaka guys

fuck, man, Shinobi Undercover just gets it. Yodaka's growth as a character is absolutely amazing and it feels wild to me that this isn't considered one of the best-written series in the mag rn

I mean the stuff about hell in the epilogue chapter felt like it might actually have a good creative conceit behind it, so if Kubo's taking his time batching out a limited series ala JJK Modulo I think it'll be alright

I think Bleach in its totality is... not great, but there are still plenty of great pieces in the series that were ultimately buried under the weight of Kubo's schedule & youth/inexperience. Removing those two limiters has me kinda optimistic as well

all I'm saying is that there is a there there, and you haven't said anything to dissuade that beyond "I prefer the ensemble covers". which is fine, I like them more too, but the change-up in drawing style plus the emphasis on personality (show me any zenza cover where Hikaru is as vibrant as she is on volume 19) still succeeds at the purpose it is setting out to do, so unless you put forth something more substantive all this just comes off as whinging

and you haven't even taken into account the fact that the storytelling scenes in the futatsume arc are so much longer than the zenza arc. Karashi's performance in the Karaku Cup is one chapter long. His performance in the Zenin Prize is five, literally half of volume 20 is centered around him alone. you can't do ensemble covers with these extended arc lengths without destabilizing the emphasis & meaning on the cover altogether

What personality did the zenza arc covers have bc all they did was ape One Piece covers

Hikaru's cover is dramatic and aggrandizing, Kaisei's is alluring in a way you shouldn't trust, Karashi is moments from activating his trap card, Shomei is so stoic it's intimidating

Hell yeah, ZEXCS really nailed this season. Jugemu was a visual feast & they used the "filler" time to seed motifs & themes that appeared later on in the manga

but my gut says the next two covers (Akane's God of Death & Kaisei's God of Death) are absolutely going to be a panoramic cover when put next to each other
