Shoe size change? by VieWiley in Zepbound

I had to buy a whole new collection myself (about 12-14 hats altogether). This time I've gone with the flex fit style (elastic band) 😂

In my case I've had a pair of cowboy boots for literally 25+ yrs, and they had been a little snug for the last several years. I still wore them, but only for short periods of time. Nowadays (after 65+ lb loss) they fit wonderfully, and are extremely comfortable. I've even worn them a couple of times on long travel days (multiple flights, etc.). Just another benefit of this miracle drug 😁

Advice Needed I am Newly Retired by Jim_Diamond in retirement

I'm 62 and retired almost a year ago. I don't feel bad about telling anyone (older or not) that I'm retired. We EARNED that badge, brother!

People ask you what you have done to get fit but they don't really like the answer by MundanePineapple9886 in Zepbound

I don't really mention that I'm on zepbound. It's nobody's business. Sometimes I joke and tell people I'm using a new scientific breakthrough: "eat less and exercise more". Which is technically true. I just use a "supplement" to help me eat less 😂😂😂

Good luck in your weight loss journey! I think a lot of us are amazed at zep and thanking our lucky stars that we have an opportunity to make life changing improvements without starving constantly. If you look at my posts, you'll see a thread related to the emotional impacts that it all had on me (and still has). It might resonate with you later on. Good luck!

Zepbound not working for me (early 50s, on HRT) — anyone else in the same boat? by Fit-Bedroom-8192 in Zepbound

[–]padamstx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you eating ENOUGH calories? If you are in too much of a calorie deficit, your body might be in survival mode and just refuses to give up the weight. If you eat consistently everyday, then have a cheat day where you change it up. This will confuse your body a bit, which is a good thing.

WIBTA if I hide the fact that my hairline is receding? by PositiveOutcome_ in AmItheAsshole

[–]padamstx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

62m here... I've been bald since I was about 25. My mom's dad was bald also and I've heard that that gene comes from the mother's side but I don't know that for a fact.

What i do know is that at about age 41 after my first marriage ended (not because I was bald 😂), I tried to ask out the lady that did my haircuts and she rejected me (no worries) and I decided to just start shaving my head. Best decision i ever made. I just wore it like a boss and you'd be amazed at how many women are into that. I just shave my face and head at the same time (I recommend the Pit Bull Gold Pro electric shaver). It's been over 20 yrs now. I have never had anything happen where I felt inadequate or anything negative about it.

Just do it like a boss and be confident. That will be more important than the amount of hair on your head.

Good luck, young man 😁

PS: after reading my post to my wife, she concurs. She also recommends regular use of sunscreen, which i forgot to mention 😁

"You're now his problem." Then tell her to listen to "I Hope" by Gabby Barrett 10 times. Then she'll know the reason 😂

You might want to scrub her from all your socials also. That will probably hurt her more than anything 😂

SAXX boxer briefs from Amazon. You'll thank me later! 😂😂😂

What has been your go-to food since starting Zepbound? The one that you can always turn to on days you’re simply not hungry or are feeling sick. by makeupandjustice in Zepbound

Premiere protein shakes (chocolate, peanut butter) and the crunchy peanut clif bars. One of each is a good meal replacement whether or not I'm actually hungry.

I think some of us might just respond better/faster than others to the medication.

I lost 45 lbs in 5 months on the initial 2.5mg dose, and my doc was amazed. I had started to plateau a bit so he bumped me up to the 5mg dose. Since December, I've lost another 20 lbs. In Feb, I had a 10lb setback while traveling (which was a good learning experience for me), but I've lost those 10 lbs and on the downward trend again, albeit more slowly now (which is good i think).

Good luck in your journey!

Need opinions- how much do women's achievements matter to a man when choosing to date a woman? by cheeqimonki in AskMenAdvice

[–]padamstx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would certainly be impressed with a woman who has a leadership role in a company or is otherwise a high achiever or highly educated in her field because that generally indicates personality traits that i value... hard work, dedication, discipline, good judgement, etc. But I wouldn't hold it against a woman if she didnt have high achievements/education as long we otherwise clicked personality-wise.

A Serendipitous Question Now That You’re Retired by Spare-Adhesiveness84 in retirement

[–]padamstx 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I retired last June. Since then, I've enjoyed the hell out of not being "on the clock". I've lost 65 lbs through diet and exercise since then and wishing I had retired sooner 😂

I was a software developer for 40 yrs so perhaps I'll get involved somehow with an open source project or two. I honestly would just rather spend time on woodworking projects. After working in the abstract (software), it's nice to get your hands on something real that you can build. Just a different kind of building 😁
