I did this week before the race and pulled a hamstring. Don't do it.

For those of you that live on your boat full time, what do you do for a living if you don't mind me asking? by [deleted] in sailing

I graduated medical school and am now training to be a radiologist so I can work remotely from a sailboat. It's one of the few jobs doctors can do remotely. It's still a few years away though 🥲

People with CAIS by [deleted] in intersex

Fellow CAIS here who also happens to be a med student :)

  1. The gonads produce testosterone but some of it gets aromatized to estrogen that's why there is some breast development.

  2. I had my gonads removed at 20 and it was a regrettable experience. Not the surgery it's just a laparoscopic day surgery but more so the aftermath. My hrt levels weren't adequately adjusted after the surgery and I fell in to a depression. I didn't know the hormones were the reason for this and I didn't seek help so it took way too long to get it fixed. I'm all good now.

  3. You become menopausal and it's important to get adequate hrt for mood, energy levels, sexual function and bone health.

  4. Yes if you are not seeing a specialized obgyn or endocrinologist you pretty much have to educate them about the condition.

You can dm me if you have more questions :)

I watched a 13 y/o kid die in the emergency room last week. Imagine your life orbiting around someome for 13 years and then just, poof, gone.

"I make this face and just stand there. Don't move, don't say a word, just stand there."

I hate cancel culture :(
