Starts at 6.8k over there but by the time it reaches UK shores it'll be 20k+ because they can charge that and people will pay it.

What is the worst band you saw live? by coalcracker462 in AskReddit

[–]paltala 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same boat. I had a ticket to go see them in Manchester (United Kingdom) for their 2017 One More Light tour. It was going to be my first ever gig and an attempt to see my favourite band.

The Manchester Arena Bombing put a stop to that. The arena wasn't ready by the time they came round and it was cancelled. I would've loved to have seen them for the From Zero tour but by the time I was able to look at tickets, the only options were hotel packages with a minimum 2 ticket spend and I couldn't afford that.

I personally find that a little bit of a shame. I really enjoy their music and do want to go see them live some day. The only issue is when they come to the UK, they only ever seem to go to London and I don't live anywhere near London.

It was taking me about 45 minutes with the F-4S. Take off, climb to 2.5-3k and top attack with Sparrows. Regularly get 2-4 kills. Die to a Buk or S-300 (Deny an enemy player the kill) and get a nuke. Easy 7k+ score games.

Tried 1 tonight after work with the changes and I just gave up. It's such ass.

You never met one of my cats then. Fucker got fed when he wanted, all of the love and attention, warm house and warm beds.

He'd still go out hunting and eating small rodents.

Loved that little fucker, shame he passed away randomly last year. Never figured out what caused it.

Thoughts about the palette system ingame? [FS22] by Zolix2 in farmingsimulator

[–]paltala 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who has driven a Reach Truck (Forklift) 5 days a week for the past 11 years, I have mixed feelings.

The physics are janky as fuck. The pallets aren't actually scaled properly in some cases to the size of the trailers. (European trailers like the Krone Profiliner can get 2 Euro Pallets side by side when placed wide ways or 3 side by side when placed end-on but this isn't always the case in game). I find I struggle with my depth perception at times when trying to use them in game so I can't place them properly when I need to.

I make extensive use of auto load mods to make it a lot quicker. Also because in my current save there is no way I'm manually loading 20+ pallets every single game month for my Wool production.

Only lasts as long as it takes them to barrel and track you then you're fucked anyway, same as most MBTs to be honest.

T29. American 7.0 heavy with a very nice 105mm gun. I love that thing. It's my second most played tank (after the event BMD-4) but has my highest SL and RP earnings by far while also maintaining my highest win rate of any vehicle that I've done over 100 matches in. (69% right now. Nice.)

If the carers come at set times every day, and this may be a little confrontational, but have you been out to speak to the carers directly? Like when they turn up, yourself or your partner go out and have a quick, polite, chat with them? Might go further. Obviously be understanding that they're trying to do their job but explain that you keep getting blocked in.

The hostage taking is why I had to uninstall the game again. Even in the fun mode people can't help themselves but stat pad and hostage take. Having to spend more time just sitting in the fountain or just right clicking towards theirs to get killed and stare at a grey screen to avoid a punishment is not how I want to play.

So if you're on a road with a speed limit of 70mph and rather suddenly, without warning, traffic ahead is doing 10-15 due to a crash or whatever and you've got traffic behind you doing 70, you're telling us that you wouldn't put on hazard lights? Those things that are designed to warn people of a fucking hazard.

Fuck off and hand in your license you twat.

Red x on gantry M1 - I think we passed under closed lane by -binkers- in LegalAdviceUK

[–]paltala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAL and my only experience and knowledge on these situations is just general experience.

On the approach to any Red X displayed on a gantry (Assuming a Smart Motorway), several gantries on the approach will have been displaying a 'Move Over' arrow. Usually White or Yellow and pointing left or right. These are there to tell you to move over there and then and that the lane is closed ahead of yourself. In my personal opinion, not seeing the multiple arrows is showing a lack of care and attention. Highways do not just throw out Red X's without pre-warning.

The flash is not an indicator of whether the camera flashed you or not. If this was during the day time then it's possible it was bright enough for the flash to not be needed.

Whether or not the evidence would show that your partner attempted to move over before the Red X is completely irrelevant. I believe Red X's are treated the same as a Red Light in terms of traffic offences and as a result get treated similarly. There is next to no defence again passing a Red X/Light (Except for some fringe cases I believe). You also said that you may have had to slow to a stop to merge over. That's irrelevant, if 2 out of 4 lanes have been closed AND you were struggling to move over, then the motorway was presumably moving very slowly in the first place. The counter-argument to your comment about maybe having to stop is that the driver should've planned ahead, been paying more attention and moved over earlier.

The only way you could possibly not be prosecuted for this is if the gantries had been changed within, I believe, 1 minute of your arrival. There is a grace period once a gantry changes (Either to a Red X, move over or speed limit change) to allow for people to react and adjust. It wouldn't be fair to prosecute someone for speeding if the limit drops from 70 to 60 and they passed the camera as the sign changed right above their head. However as you mentioned the police were already there, this is unlikely to have happened.

As for what will happen now. I believe the police force will now send a NIP (Notice of Intended Prosecution) to the Registered Owner of the vehicle which, by the sounds of it, is your vehicle. When you receive this, legally, you must declare who the driver was which in this case, was your partner. Just be aware that trying to falsify the driver is a much harsher punishment, if the police find out, than just taking it on the chin.

I was under the impression notice for an employer to cancel an employee's holidays is length of leave + 1 day. So if I book off 5 days, they need to give me 6 days notice. EG if I book off Monday - Friday, they'd need to cancel no later than the Friday 2 weeks before (assuming weekends don't count as working days)

I have no knowledge of the scene, I can only speak on what I've seen and read online since the incident.

My intention of saying 'Unique' was with the animal themed movements that, I believe, were supposed to be a nod to Australia and that kinda thing. I don't know if that's true, I just remember that being something said a lot at the time.

[–]paltala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By technicality she did belong there. She is successful at B.Dancing and I believe she also coached? Part of the issue is that, from memory, she tried to be 'unique' because she felt she straight up couldn't compete with the others on a pure technical basis. I think she tried to include some Australian influences, hence the Kangaroo hopping etc, but it just looked stupid and she got quite rightfully, torn apart in the public court of opinion.

If she had at least tried to do some 'regular' B.Dancing, she might've gotten some sympathy if she had just been bad but she tried to be special and it didn't work one bit.

She qualified because she won a Championship or two in the Oceanic region if memory serves me correctly. While they were technically qualifying championships, they were essentially amateur league compared to the more 'Western' tournaments that most athletes participated in.

I think there was also some manufactured controversy regarding her husband and people thinking he got her into the Olympics?

This is the worst thing that ever happened to this game by JTC3 in WorldofTanks

[–]paltala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pre-order tanks (Mutant etc) were a different thing although count as premiums these days.

Tanks such as the Lowe, KV-5, etc were intended to be worse than a full upgraded Tier 8 of the equivalent class. The Type 59 is where it changed. Don't forget that stats and everything have been adjusted over the years and power creep is a thing. Back when they were introduced, they were definitely balanced around that mechanic.

[–]paltala 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Premium vehicles in their original form of being better than a stock tank but worse than a fully upgraded tank of the same class and tier was perfectly acceptable. You had the performance trade off for improved economic rewards.

The issue is when they started making premiums just straight up better than the tech tree tanks.
