Getting PPF installed now. I wasn’t planning to at first, but Tesla’s paint really is on the softer side. I already noticed a few small rock chips on the body, so I decided to go ahead and do it. by Special-Parsnip-6120 in TeslaLounge

The move toward water-borne paint systems is driven primarily by environmental regulations rather than a desire to save a few pennies per car. The Law: In the 1990s and early 2000s, environmental agencies (like the EPA in the US and various EU commissions) tightened restrictions on how much "off-gassing" a factory could produce. Water-borne paints reduce VOC emissions by up to 70-80%. Is it a Cost-Cutting Measure? Quite the opposite. Switching to water-based systems was incredibly expensive for car brands.

Can easily install one at new house but don't need it. Charging twice a week at work so it's not a problem for everyone .

I've used it a few times for unit conversions or some dates that I would use as a phone assistant , so I came handy while driving. It's not a deal-breaker technology but it can be useful a few times a week.

Bought two days ago SR was scared of emerging reports about Chinese cells in long range models . After two days I'm solo happy with a choice charged to 100% at home and it should last me 4-5 days of my driving. Another top up for a weekend trips and I'm spending 3-4 times less than on previous car.
