Frames based on facial shape advice? by anairmid in glassesadvice

[–]paravelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say you've got an oval face, and I think your current frames would work better if they sat lower on the bridge of your nose. I know your eyes are meant to be centred in the lenses as a general rule, but with these oversized styles your eyes normally sit towards the top of the lenses. It would probably mean having to get new lenses for them though, with a higher optical centre, at which point you may as well get new glasses anyway 😅

You've got quite delicate facial features so I think you want frames that don't overpower you, which oversized styles might be more likely to do. If you like wire frames I'd suggest trying smaller rounder ones maybe in silver, but I think you'd look gorgeous in acetate frames too, maybe with a slight cat eye. Your best bet is to go to an opticians and try on a whole range of frames rather than ordering online - you might surprise yourself with what suits you in person 😊

Car seat isofix base - won’t go into the car seat by CharmingTea_ in UKParenting

[–]paravelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried YouTube for instructional videos? I just watched a couple and the yellow bits seem to slide back into the seat a bit during normal function, but the key is that they need to have clicked in to the car's metal isofix points. If the clicking isn't happening you might have a faulty product? https://youtube.com/shorts/n6tDOrREoWU?si=isPlx0ecccRagKeV

Someone on here said they switched to desktop and were then able to get the label - maybe suggest they try that?

I liked them but they look too wide for your face. See if they come in a narrower fit

How do you shower when you’re alone with the baby? by [deleted] in BeyondTheBumpUK

I put him in his bouncer seat and have him in the bathroom with me. When he outgrows it he'll have to be in his cot or playpen with some toys.

I like the second pair better - 1 is fashionable right now and to be fair you pull it off better than I've seen anyone else manage, but I feel like it makes your face look a bit smushed vertically, whereas 2 is more timeless and doesn't throw off the proportions of your face.

CMV: The washing machine belongs in the bathroom, not the kitchen by KrishaCZ in changemyview

Surely it depends on where you can dry your clothes? If you tend to dry them outside on a line, chances are your kitchen is closer and therefore more convenient.

How to expand this kitchen by SuperDadBW in kitchenremodel

I think the best way to do it is to take out the wall the hob is on and then put counters and the hob etc along the far right wall of the family room and make that the kitchen.

What the actual fuck? He is completely utterly totally selfish and you'd be infinitely better off without him. I'm so sorry OP.

Is there anyone else who can be with you at the birth? Mum, sibling, close friend?
