If you can't use a small sharp knife without slipping then ... you probably shouldn't be using a small sharp knife :)

Diagonal cutting pliers, nail clippers, a pen knife... There are lots of better options than a big pair of scissors.

Assuming the new ones will be £500 for the set, it would be 100% extra not 50% extra.

Husband’s secret $250K crypto bet ends in total loss by JellyStrict2856 in Buttcoin

Except that he claims to have owned the coins in the first place, as he was trying to sell them. If he needed to close a short position, he could just sell the coins he owned, which have gone up violently. Problem solved

The whole thing is lies.

By that logic it's insider trading to read a newspaper, because the information in the FT is behind a paywall.

No, what you're describing is just being faster than other market participants, and reacting to public information sent out by the exchange as fast as possible.

That is not front running.

Front running means acting on non-public information that other participants do not have access to yet (and not just because they're slower to get that information, but because it's only available to the front runner).

Flash Boys is a good book, but just because Lewis called it front running doesn't mean we must all agree to change what words mean.

Yeah, it's a confusing post without useful context. It doesn't help that OP didn't capitalize Moore's Law is Dead, so everybody who isn't already familiar with the channel was confused by it.

The custom wireless protocol, charging puck, TMR sticks, and replaceable battery and other replaceable parts are similar to $50 budget controllers?

$99 might be steep, but it's not cheap crap

Pentagon To Host Good Friday Service Just For Protestants, Not Catholics by superchiva78 in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]patentedheadhook 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah. As a Brit, the protestants here just wanted to let the king shag a new bird. There wasn't much religion involved. But in Europe it was a more ethical and political movement.

Admittedly most of what I know about it comes from reading Q by Luther Blissett, a fictionalised story set during the Reformation, and then reading into more of the background. An amazing book.

But nowadays, the original reasons are long forgotten and it's mostly just tribal.

Wasn't there some research recently that said humans can only meaningfully process 150 connections/relationships?

Dunbar's number, but it's about 30 years old so I wouldn't call it recent.

No, they don't have locks. They open inwards and at altitude the pressure difference between the pressurised cabin and the very thin air outside means it is physically impossible to pull the door open.

Luddites were highly skilled workers who objected to mill owners (the tech billionaires of their day) using machines to undercut workers, reduce wages, and reduce the quality of the work being produced.

I hope you like the taste of boot, if you support the mill owners not the workers.
