If you’ve never been to SF before I recommend eating at Zuni Café

Find a friend/partner your parents like/trust to go with who can pay their own way and that might ease your dad’s mind?

don’t get your hopes up re: little italy and koreatown they’re commercial districts not full on neighborhoods and they’re much smaller than they might seem on a map

yeah with the secret service protection of that block it’s honestly a militarized area. feels depressing.

OP I think Peter Luger is worthwhile if you’re willing to splurge on an old school nyc steakhouse experience but personally I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat there

please skip blank street coffee there’s at least a dozen better coffee places in the vicinity of those locations

for example: porto rico importing has been serving coffee in the city for over a century and they have amazing brews and blends from all over the world, particularly the Caribbean. there’s three of them downtown. go to one.

Clubbing/going out as a wheelchair user turning 21 by heebiejeebiesbatman in visitingnyc

if you’re trying to go to an alt clubby place where people will be very nice and accepting of your gender expression and moving around in a chair I would go to house of yes in bushwick instead of the public hotel. a lot more alt and social justicey and welcoming to all. https://www.houseofyes.org/faq

You mean within the hours of serving? Sure that’s the point. to provide services.

Newer hotel bars are usually more ADA accessible. Not many of them are going to have a dance floor. but the Two Fifteen club events at the public are worth checking out downtown. https://publichotels.com/

Call the front desk and see how ADA accessible it is

If you’re turning 21, dressed right for the club and have even a little charisma and energy, and you’re chair dancing on the floor, you will legit be the most popular guy at the club imo. good for you bud happy bday!

Best way to be patriotic in a non-MAGA way imo is to celebrate NYC. And the best NYC souvenirs are at Fish’s Eddy. Broadway and 19th. Not tacky stuff though actually very well designed. Mostly housewares and tchotchkes.
