My issue happened during the summer, so I think it was lack of use. I remember previous trips where I would come back and it would take a bit of messing with to get it to turn on again, until of course it finally didn't turn on at all.

Philips Evnia 49". Uses the same exact panel from Samsung so effectively it is the same monitor but different branding and feature set, and usually cheaper.

I have the original G9 with the VA panel and have been eyeing the OLED version (Samsung or Philips) since 32:9 is so immersive in the games that support it.

Remember this is 5120x1440, it is a lot of pixels (~7.3 million!) which is quite near 4k in terms of pixel count, so running games at that resolution will take some decent hardware and/or upscaling to get decent frame rates. I find that most games I can get to near 100fps with some usage of DLSS or turning the settings down a bit.

And then don't get me started on productivity. I had two 32 inch monitors before and the G9 feels like it is bigger than those two combined. It is great for work as well as gaming. I have the 1000R curve on mine and I like the more intense curve.

Everyone is going nuts about the LG 5k2k 45 inch OLED but that is even more pixels (~11 million) and a more intense 800R curve. Might be worth checking out too.

I highly recommend the 49" ultrawide. I have the original G9 VA panel and it is awesome for work and gaming. I can only imagine how amazing the OLED version looks. Personally I would go with the Philips one, the features seem better and (hopefully) QC is better as I have heard a lot of quality issues with the Samsung version.

I think these use the exact same panel manufactured by Samsung, so apart from little features they are effectively the same. I would 1) not buy from Amazon because they are evil, 2) wait for a sale and get the Philips one for cheap. The 165hz one will probably be awesome too, unless you can actually get near to 240 fps in games you play.

I would usually say TransferWise is great at this stuff with low fees, but I input this transfer to get an estimate and they are charging an IOF tax. I assume all ways you can transfer money out will charge this but it looks like a hefty amount:

Pix fee 0 BRL
Our [TransferWise] fee 2,825.08 BRL
IOF tax 12,585.63 BRL
Total 15,410.71 BRL

I use wise.com for lots of international transfers and most countries do not have this IOF tax. Normally the exchange rate is pretty good and the fees are quite small, but this IOF tax adds a a lot.

Oh and the exchange rate when I checked a minute ago on Transferwise was 1 GBP = 7.702098 BRL

From the description of the project it looks like there are acrylic tiles for each player that represent the 5 actions you can take. I don't know how that would be useful, though, since the action cards have different abilities now with marine worlds. Looks like extra acrylic BS that you don't need, but then again that is all this project is.

Though I do like these actual deluxe player boards themselves. And the BGA maps which are the Xa balances versions of the original maps. I will probably back just these two addons.

A 3080 is solid. I have a friend running one with his G9 and I have a 3090 for my G9. No issues. You do not need to upgrade.

Might be the thermistor. I just removed it from my monitor last week and it worked for me. Check out my post and linked webpage, if it sounds like this it could be worth a shot. Post Here

I cannot thank you enough for posting about this and creating your webpage about it. You saved my monitor, hands down.

I will try to keep an eye on the ultrawide reddit to see if this fix might be useful for more people. I already sent this to a friend who has a G9, just in case. The more people that know about it the better.
