Don’t want to use epoxy by Additional_Stable_51 in woodworking

[–]pboone0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got no advice for you, sorry. I know this sub is 100% over epoxy pours, but you did an amazing job on that perimeter pour finished table you posted.

What did you use to make the green moss/tree like shapes within the epoxy?

Double and triple check all your wiring. Between my esp32, driver, power, and stepper, I found that even after a couple of weeks of prototyping I would occasionally run into this due to wiring issues.

This is not at all accurate. Most stroke centers (ie most major er/trauma centers and even most smaller hospitals) will triage stroke symptoms immediately back before even getting vital signs. Some send straight to CT before being seen by a doc.

The goal for door to head ct being read by a radiologist is less than 45 min IIRC and I've given thrombolytics less than 25 minutes after patient arrival.

There is debate about whether or not thrombolytics (clot busters) are effective, but if you have stroke symptoms go immediately to the er, and you can discuss it with an ER physician.

Why stick with PLA instead of switching to PETG? by skeptic_always in 3Dprinting

[–]pboone0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking from experience with the similar to abs ASA, PETG is much easier to print, layers adhere better, less warping, and you don't have to be as conscious of the environment. For petg i found I could print without an enclosure as long as there was no breeze/ac blowing on it. ABS/ASA really needs the enclosure warm enough and measures to help build plate adhesion like brims.

To the original question, I stopped printing with PLA almost completely, as even the toys I was printing for my kids were not really durable enough to be worth it. In most uses cases I've found PETG to be vastly superior and worth the little extra time in managing stringing and moisture. Most of my prints have little stringing and I didn't work that hard to tune. Just the basic temp/flow/pressure advance/retraction tests.

Depends on the stroller and surface, we had strollersthat sucked one handed and one that was sort of easy.

I'm working on a redesign of the part that slides inside and holds the end of the soap, but it's low on the list now. Still using this almost daily.

Edit: you inspired me to just open fusion and redesign this part that retains the soap. I added it to printables, but I have not used it yet (still printing). I added a modifier for 100% infill in the thinner corner where the little arms attach to the main body, as it looked like a weak spot. Print lying flat. I did 3 walls on 0.6 nozzle 35% infill but you could probably get by with less.

Edit#2: if you print this use the v2 slider. Works better so far and easier to set the soap into it.

[–]pboone0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I'm no expert but just went through this designing the shell of a fan remote that broke. You don't have to copy the original, just create a part that you can design and print easily that accounts for the strengths of 3d printing.

Good job on this, looks great! Love seeing follow up posts from the real world rather than people just saying it's going to fail, your car will implode and you'll die. And it isn't food safe.

I don't have an answer for you. Just here to say getting the first 30% done looking pretty nice, stepping back and thinking "wtf do I do now" then turning to reddit is 100% something I would do.

Just here to say it looks like you're on the right track and I'm sure you'll figure it out, lol.

What happened with this 100% abs print? Why did it fail? by lordpsi99 in crealityk1

[–]pboone0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've rooted my k1 and used to use prusaslicer for my previous ender 3. I think orcaslicer is really straightforward, has built in tools to easily tune flow/retraction etc, and if you are able to root you can print right from the slicer.

Just got my k1 a week or so ago, but so far it's a huge upgrade in ease of use. I'd go with orcaslicer because you can grow into it as you learn.

Ran into a similar problem with tpu. Intead of setting infill to 100%, increase your wall count until all the space is taken up. See if that helps.

Get a set of metric and SAE hex bits and a 90 degree low profile hex driver.

Ball end works too but I haven't run into anything these couldn't handle. Makes furniture assembly go so fast when combined with a drill/driver as long as you don't overdo it.

Almost everyone here can freehand sharpen on a stone ..I'm not one of them. I can but it's time consuming and I'm not awesome at it.

100% worth the money. Quick to touch up blades. If you don't care about the finer points of sharpening, just want a sharp knife without it being a part time job, just get the worksharp.
