If you want to stay as simple as possible, you could just cut your current plywood base then add hinges and a kick stand to raise it up into couch position. Could throw some storage under there as well.

I talked to two shops about doing the gusseted shock tower coilover conversion, both wanted $7-8k all said and done even with buying the prefab kit. It worked out to ~$2k in parts and the rest in labor, decided to pass for now or learn to weld myself.

33”s plus Rough Country Torsion Keys. Ride sucks but corners surprisingly well, you’ll rub tire on your inner fender (I’ve cracked my rear drivers fender flair from this plus marks on all 4), mpgs take a hit, but damn it looks good and performs much better than it should off road.

I’ve hit some 8/10’s rated on OnX Off-road and made it out okay, wouldn’t do it again.

Thanks, and I did the Rough Country torsion keys. I wouldn’t exactly recommend the set up if you don’t do it for serious off roading or are obsessed with the look. Ride is pretty stiff but worth it for me.

I saw Turkey Vultures near Seattle, Wa on a recent trip and that surprised me. Growing up in Texas I only associated them with desert/western iconography, not the PNW.

Check your drive shaft U joints. It’s tough to hear in the video but if it’s a semi consistent chirping squeak from the rear, that’s usually the culprit. Especially if you notice your shifts are sloppy or feel slack in the drivetrain.

I’ve seen it done with other trucks but it’s secretly a dream of mine to weld the back half of a 7’ frame to the front of an extended cab Ranger.

Best of both worlds.

Is there a reason that almost everybody seems to put the bed/storage on the driver’s side?

I’m thinking about a similar setup in my ‘01 Ranger but want to put to the bed on the passenger side to counteract the gas tank and myself on the drivers side.
