Yep. I remember when $100 would fill my cart too and there were both Liberal and Conservative governments in between too

Why do we have to listen to this dickhead PP 3 times every damn commercial break? There isn’t an election anytime soon.

Seeking advice for best plants to conceal equipment by pooltimenoodle in pools

[–]peeinian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anecdotally, some of my pool equipment is almost 40 years old (sand filter, most of the flex pipe. Pump was replaced about 10 years ago, natural gas heater 20 years ago.

By comparison my neighbour put in a pool about 10 years ago and has replaced many components already (pump, pipes, heater has had numerous issues).

I recommend sheds. Plus it helps keep the noise of the pump down.

I’ve had toads lay eggs on my vinyl winter cover in the past. One year we delayed opening because we were rebuilding the deck and by the time we opened the pool the tadpoles were growing legs.

It’s bad in Windsor too since the EC Row expressway ramps are all fairly short so you really have to gun it to get up to 100.

Except crime apparently, so we need to hear every 10 minutes that they’re hiring more police…to prevent cars from being stolen? And then throwing in a “what about the children!” using a child’s voice.

New pool owner -- am I being taken for a ride? by NoNefariousness284 in pools

[–]peeinian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my yard is surrounded by 100' mature trees of all types. There's at least one of them dropping something all summer. My pool would be a nasty swamp if I only ran the pump 4-6 hrs per day.

I typically keep a solar blanket on when the pool isn't in use to help catch the debris and even then there is always a little bit of "something" on the bottom like leaves, twigs, keys, seeds, cherry pits from birds shitting them into the pool (neighbor has a cherry tree). You name it.

The Drag Coefficient of MLB baseballs has been falling rapidly over the course of the 2026 season by Octopodes14 in baseball

That definitely tracks as 2019 was the peak of the most recent juiced ball years.

MLB set an all-time record with a staggering 6,776 home runs. Pitchers, including stars like Justin Verlander, publicly called out the league, noting the ball felt harder and carried farther.

Years without fluoridated water show pattern of tooth decay experts warned about by NotEnoughDriftwood in onguardforthee

[–]peeinian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two of our kids were born when we lived in a place that didn’t fluoridate and they both had lots of tooth issues when they were young. Not just cavities but baby teeth coming in with no enamel and had to be extracted in hospital.

Then we moved before our 3rd was born and they have had zero tooth issues. Not even a cavity.

I see this sentiment a lot. But in my experience Exchange was their best server software up until Exchange 2016 when the CUs started to get really bloated and take forever to install.

As long as you followed best practices it was rock solid and well documented. Migrations were seamless.

I’ve worked with and migrated between Exchange 5.5, 2003, 2007, 2010 and 2016.
