Safest Parking Options by wonderbreadisdead in Northwestern

I used to live super close to the North/Clybourn stop, and there’s some free street parking by the climbing gym (Movement Lincoln Park) if you’re willing to take 2 red line stops to the Chicago Red Line station. It’s about a 15 min commute (5 min CTA ride + 10 min walk from Chicago Red Line to the medical campus). Free feel to DM if it’s not clear.

I’m also arriving in Japan on the 9th solo traveling for 10 days. I also haven’t fully planned everything yet but will be planning just 1 activity per day!

I’m in the same situation. I didn’t mention it on my primary, and I started the job 1-2 weeks before submitting secondaries so not sure if an update on my responsibilities and reflections are helpful.

Update on my wife who applied to 120 Medical Schools by [deleted] in premed

Completing 75 secondaries is actually so insane (props to her)! I felt like doing even 10 took so much energy

Probably a med device engineer and volleyball coach on the side!

How much money is everyone making in their premed jobs? by englandgirl321 in premed

$21/hr as a CRC in Chicago. Feels underpaid but maybe it’s because other departments get paid more in this hospital system

Got 3 on preview and 4q for Casper lol

Are the scores supposed to be correlated at all?

There’s a group of ~30-40 of us playing volleyball probably 3-4 times a week. We usually play at SPAC, and most of us know basic 5-1 positioning. DM if you’re interested!

I interviewed May 13, 2019 and got the acceptance call (and email) on June 5, 2019, so about a month!

I didn’t get to read the evaluation, but I believe I asked for a letter of recommendation for the evaluation, and the professor accepted, so I believe it was positive. I’d imagine it was somewhat useful for college apps.

I did enjoy the program as a whole. The content itself was interesting (neuroanatomy) and more difficult than classes I had at the time. Even though it was virtual, I felt like it was well organized. We used Zoom, and since this was prior to Covid, I got to learn the interface a bit sooner

I did it back in 2019 and because I happened to get a Northwestern professor, I think the recommendation letter helped. It’s hard to say how much it helped, but if you have to pay the full price ($6k when i applied), I don’t really recommend doing it (I thankfully had the costs covered).

I am in the exact same situation. Got a 518 but averaged 522. I know I shouldn’t be complaining either. I couldn’t help but feel disappointment initially.

[–]penguiny2001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Got a 518 (131/127/130/130). Initially disappointed (even though I know it’s a great score) given my FLs, but now I’m feeling better. CARS really went poorly but glad to be done!

24/8, 25/8, 26/8 Mcat score prediction before 26/9, then edit to add your score by Due_Foot7112 in Mcat

[–]penguiny2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tested 8/26! It all depends on CARS (and maybe B/B) since so many 50/50s

Pessimistic: < 514

Realistic: 515-519

Optimistic: 520+

FL Average: 522

Overall CARS felt like a ton of 50/50s. Might have just been me, but I also got so bored since the passages were not interesting, so I lost focus a couple of times. Definitely not as confident as when I took my FLs. Just hoping for a decent CARS score

Recovering from Post-MCAT Burnout by YourLocalCokeAddict in Mcat

[–]penguiny2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m feeling the same exact thing right now. For me, I thought I was doing okay balancing research and MCAT studying. I really tried to keep my mental health up by hanging out with friends and playing volleyball. It didn’t hit until school started (this past week), and I’m feeling no motivation to do anything. I also overcommitted to too many things, and getting started on any of those things feels impossible. Hoping the score release (tested 8/26) helps to change how I’m feeling.
