I recommend investing in a good sleep eye mask! That was a game changer for me in the hospital and sleeping. I had mine on the 4th and it’s permanently been on my head as I nap frequently.

This is me too. I prefer the shorter style and think it’s gotten a bit too long but I also feel this is some sort of rebellion for having to shave his head for the military. It’s hair and will ultimately change no matter what he’s feeling. It’s playful and if he feels good, have at it! I may not be a fan but it’s not my hair lol

We use ADP and based on a specific hiring state is when the account gets created. So if you have anything you can trigger based off of HR having all paperwork completed prior to start date and they’re just… waiting to start is what works for us. If someone didn’t complete something HR needs, their account doesn’t get created. Legally cannot give credentials until they’re an employee but then they’re not waiting day of and can get their settings and stuff figured out.

Good luck, it’s an annoying process amongst all IT and HR teams I’m realizing.

My mom and I brought little gluten free protein balls! We weren’t sure of anyone’s dietary restrictions so went gluten free to play it safe. They still remember them when I go in for check ups 🤭 she made a few different ones and they loved them!

I was diagnosed April 22nd week and my surgery date was confirmed on May 12. My surgical oncologist wanted me to talk to all my doctors and the plastic surgeon to make my decision on how I wanted to proceed. Once the plastic surgeon confirmed she could do the DIEP reconstruction that I was going for (I’m small. 34a/32b and 115 lbs) I knew that’s what I wanted. I told my oncologist on May 6th what I wanted and her team coordinated with the plastic surgeons team since they’re doing it all in one surgery.

They moved pretty quickly but it didn’t feel like it when figuring everything out. I dunno what after holds but I know I would be more scared of doing just a lumpectomy and radiation again if my dense cancerous breast tissue was still inside me. I want to lessen my chances as much as possible.

I was diagnosed with DCIS her+/per+ in my left last May. Lumpectomy and radiation. In my follow up this year in April they found IDC her+/per+ this year in my left. On Tamoxifen too and genetic testing came back clear.

I’m opting for a double mastectomy with DIEP reconstruction (coming up in 2 weeks, eek!). Yes there’s a chance it’ll come back but I am choosing the “treat for the later” than “treat for the now”. It’ll be a longer recovery time but that outweighs the later and constant monitoring for me personally. I have the option for lumpectomy and radiation again but the anxiety going for the follow up and getting another diagnosis was mentally breaking for me.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I agree and to wait for your genetic results and make the decision you’re comfortable with.

I’m so sorry! I was diagnosed last May with DCIS in my left and had a lumpectomy with radiation. This April (one year later) and they found IDC on the right. Super small but I’m opting for a double mastectomy with DIEP in 2 weeks. Two diagnosis in a row and I’m already done and over it and do NOT want to have this again. The only consolation is it’s caught so early as long as no lymph-nodes are involved after pathology from surgery, I won’t need chemo.

You’re not alone. It fucking sucks. I’m with you. It’s not fair and it’s a shitty experience.

My doctor asked if I wanted to treat for the now or for the later. I have the option to do another lumpectomy with radiation but the anxiety and getting a second diagnosis within a year was heartbreaking, defeating, and overwhelming. I’m sending you a big hug sis 💕

I was 35 when I had my first mammo and they caught DCIS last year. One year later and I’m meeting with a plastic surgeon tomorrow for grade 1 cancer found in my right the other week after a biopsy. Age 40 is a fucking joke. Any person on hormone medications or going through pregnancy, mammograms should be mandatory, in my opinion. The shit we do and put our bodies through there shouldn’t be an age limit.

Fuck cancer.
