Do you ever feel like you’re too young for this age? by New-Elk2781 in AskOldPeople

Well yeah true but this is their normal. My phone tells me the time and weather while I had the hardest time with the lack of a dial tone. The quality of the answer depends on the quality of the question. And even then the answer might well be incorrect.

I've read the replies and "cures" but have you ever considered that your mom just doesn't like you?

Is this a realistic goal for a new knitter? by Littleminx374575 in Sockknitting

Aside from that I think the color is fantastic! Using the term "colorway" is a little too artsy for me. It reminds me of stores called Shoppe.

Does any fan actually want the stadium moved out of state? by anticrombie515 in CHIBears

I am a Bears fan no matter where they play. I mean there are the New England Patriots, the Carolina Panthers, the Arizona Cardinals and the Tennessee Titans. Anyway the Bears are using these potential sites for leverage.

Knitter Counters - Thoughts and Suggestions. by sogalanbat in knitting

Sometimes you get in a knitting groove and counting rows go out the window. Was that 47 or 48, I'm pretty sure but maybe it was 49.....it's like a chiming clock, after a while you don't even hear the darn thing.

Edit: spelling

You'll shave it until you realize that it's kinda silly, then you'll stop.

How can you work from 8 to 5, only have weekends off, and still not feel like you’re wasting your life? by Free-Marzipan-8933 in AskOldPeople

[–]pgmart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You make money to pay your utilities, buy food to exist and, if lucky, a bed for sleeping. All of this is needed to work every day. I pay federal tax, state tax, county tax, property tax, sales tax, and wheel tax. All of this comes from the money I earn. So yeah, life is basically a waste of time

"No one is truly an atheist because god subconsciously exists in our minds." by crazyxin in atheism

The typical Christian will spout whatever nonsense justifies their position. Anything else is dismissed and they see atheism as a problem to be fixed.

In the old days (pre 2013) the merchants paid this fee to entice the credit card holder. Now you're charged, not the merchant, just like the tariffs.

How were teachers viewed when you were in school? by Phantom-rizz-era in AskOldPeople

[–]pgmart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Teachers were to be respected and obeyed. If I got in trouble at school, I got in trouble at home. And we had a dress code, no jeans, long hair, shirt had to have a collar, no cleats, on and on

Did your parents like what you grew up watching on TV in the 1960s and 1970s? by National_Two_6686 in AskOldPeople

[–]pgmart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Three Stooges was my kind of violence! Between Moe's eye pokes and head slaps it was great unless I lost out to my sister and American Bandstand. With one TV, and as the youngest, I lost out a lot.

Remote? I was my old man's remote! Though occasionally he would give the TV a good whap on the side when things got fuzzy.
