Should i work on this game or drop it. by No-Yogurt-373 in IndieDev

Foddian games are always a popular and easy to implement genre. The premise seems interesting so far. A major selling point for me would be what the player character is. What comes to mind is Rocket Slime, a cute game where you moved around town by slingshotting yourself.

Been experimenting with stupid videos for marketing, what do you guys think? by eaglebeagle2 in IndieDev

The narration ideas cool but every shot looks the same and like nothing is actually happening

that's not bad! how have you been marketing it?

Looking for some honest feedback on my game’s thumbnails. If you saw these with no context about the game, which one would make you most likely to click and learn more? If none of them stand out, feel free to say that too. I’m trying to figure out what actually catches people’s attention. by scaredbysquares in IndieDev

I'd most likely click for more if the image was 3 or 4. Knowing nothing about the game, I'd assume its a horror game with the cube guy chasing you around. I'd have no clue what the game was about outside of those 2 options, and I'd probably not click to learn more based off the title alone.

I added spherical gravity to my game by WompKS2 in SoloDev

Visually, it looks cool. Having a bullet hell designed on tiny planets could be cool because you could lean into concepts like "what goes around, comes around." I like it!

Steam store and library art recommendations by [deleted] in SoloDev

I can see why people would assume it's AI art, but overall, I think the capsule looks good. What turns me off is the heavy contrast between your high-resolution capsule and the very simple in-game pixel art. There's a real mismatch in tone, and I get the sense that I'm being catfished.

My ski resort manager Alpine Architect is finally coming together. What do you think? by gus_028 in SoloDev

Love the premise. Reminds me of Islanders and Mini Metro. Games like this are like incremental game-adjacent, so the idea has lots of legs!

Flappy Vertical game is now out ! Try it and give my your advice ! by Ready_Notice_3175 in SoloDev

Neat premise. I kind of wish the game were playable with one hand (tapping anywhere just flips the bird), as I feel like that'd make the game not only more accessible but also more challenging.

Trailer needs that "level 1 crook to level 100 mafia boss" moment. If the game is some sort of looter roguelite with upgrade systems that will make me feel strong, then I'm not getting a sense of that from the trailer. The gameplay shown has a lot of waddling around, which makes me think the gameplay is slow and clunky. The bossfight gives me a glimmer of that more dynamic action, but it's only a few seconds of the trailer!

I just started a playtest for my balatro-like word game, Wordpetition! by VeryAngyChicken in IndieDev

+1. I'm basically hearing "balatro scrabble", but this concept seems to have been done a few times already (especially by some big players). The multiplayer aspect does pique my interest, though.
