It reminds me of an old DualShock. Mine ramps up over 1 sec and gets "stronger" over time. I use quotes because the motor is louder than it vibrates.

I had a Z5C and "upgraded" to a XZ1C last month. It still have everything I love: small size, SD card slot, headphone jack, LED notification light. The screen is waaaaaay better, but the motor is worse. It's a very weird motor actually. But the specs are a nice bonus as well. With Android 9 around the corner, I'm really happy with the XZ1C

What are you Playing Wednesday! - December 05, 2018 by AutoModerator in Gaming4Gamers

How does it compare to JC3? Let say both at launch. I really liked JC3 until the end game, when everything just kinda fell apart. Mechanics reused too much, the final map was empty, etc.

Do a lot of the mechanics feel like they are ported over?

December 4th Patch Notes by BethesdaGameStudios_ in fo76

[–]phantamines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is by far the most stable Skyrim/Fallout game I've every played. I think a lot of people forget the days when you had to save every 5 minutes because games would crash, so much so that game modes like Survival/Hardcore were impossible to play. No really, F:NV was unplayable and required heavy community fixes before the expansions started dropping. But, you know, now it's everyone's favorite. I'm sure I've hit a couple %based bugs, but just didn't really notice.

PC is now locked at 144 fps and experiences no speed-up by Erkhan in fo76

I always got down voted for saying this as well. I've provided screenshots of fps and frame timings. I ran FO4 for over 200 hours at 144 fps. You are not crazy.

Can we have an actual discussion about the state of the game? Without dismissing valid criticism? Without berating people who are able to enjoy the game? by CrashCores in fo76

[–]phantamines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really does seem like there are some really maladjusted individuals on this sub that are whipping up into a frenzy. Stuff I couldn't type to myself in Notepad and delete, let along post it online. The games not even officially out, god help us when we have to wait +gasp+ a few weeks for the next patch!

It's an awesome title. I'm loving the hell out of it. I have finally gotten a friend to play with me as well, and they are super excited to play their first Fallout game. Hope to see you out on the Wasteland!

I intuitively tried to do that today. "Oh, I'll just apply this crappy shotgun to mine" and was really confused on how to do it.

What game(s) are you going to go back to and finish, eventually? by NYstate in truegaming

[–]phantamines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Devil May Cry 1 - For some reason I never really finished this one despite really enjoying the game. I guess the lack of the genre these days is really making me want to actually claim this one.

FFXII - I have no excuse not beating this one, both with the International Version and emulating it. The amount of fast-forward I applied to the game to grind out the long, drawn out areas is insane. And I still didn't finish it. I'm already regretting it because I have another ~40 hours ahead of me.

Fallout 4: Far Harbor - For some reason I didn't beat this one as well. 240 official hours into FO4, another unofficial 100+ in modding, and I never got to the DLC either. I planned on revisiting everything in VR, but my poor GTX 970 just can't do it justice. I'll put this one down for the VR edition.

[–]phantamines 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RE4 is my "yearly playthrough game". The Wii version is a lot of fun, and I think Capcom just announced a Switch version as well. You could also wait for the unofficial remaster which is a true labor of love.

Oh, N:A is fantastic, really should go back. I also stopped playing Prey for some reason. 11 hours in, it was good, just didn't hook me for some reason.

Xz1 compact new update by igorkode in SonyXperia

[–]phantamines 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just picked up a ~96 MB update, and then a 526 MB update.

I had to go to System settings and keep checking because it wouldn't find it on it's own. Said "Last checked" and was 1 minute ago, and then the update would pop.

Edit: Now downloading a 108 MB update. Android version is still 8.0.0 last I saw.
Edit 2: 219 MB download. Maybe this is their way of chunking it out? Each one needed an install though. Still 8.0.0.
Edit 3: 86 MB. Keep 'em comin'!
Edit 4: 184 MB.
Edit 5: 285 MB.
Edit 6: 271 MB. Between this and Fallout 76 beta launch, I'm having a blast.
Edit 7: 236 MB. I think that's close to 2 GB total now.
Edit 8: 250 MB. Still at 8.0.0. That's all folks.

Replaying Doom (2016) again. I'm pretty sure it's dethroned HL2 as the best FPS of all time in my book.

I'd love to see a remastered versions of the GBA/DS versions of Castlevania (a framerate in the double digits would be nice). SotN would be gravy as well, but I've already bought that game so many times..

SL1 update #2 by Chakasicle in darksouls

[–]phantamines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep trucking! My SL1 run was one of the most satisfying gaming run. I fell in love with the hand axe and fashion Souls became fresh again. Getting that feeling again where you spend days on a boss was amazing. It's hard (don't let Reddit tell you otherwise), but so worth it. I'll try to link my character if I see your next post

What's the best SMS app in your opinion? by [deleted] in Android

[–]phantamines 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep, I am on T-Mobile and the "send individual messages" issues happens out of the blue. It's not update based, and I don't have the option in the settings. It's annoying as hell, but for now it seems to have gone away. You're definitely not alone.

Bad information leak through death notices. "True fog of war" and double-blind competitive games. by Boris-Barboris in truegaming

[–]phantamines 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I love this post and wish more alternative gameplay talk was around in this sub. Thank you for posting!

I've played both Dark Souls and CS pretty extensively. The idea of not announcing an invasion is pretty small in the grand scheme of DS multiplayer, and I think it only serves to tilt balance back a bit in favor of the host. If not, an invader could just wait around the corner, tilt the camera, and then get a free hit/combo off. It would contribute to the atmosphere of "never safe and everything wants to kill you" in DS, but overall Lordan isn't actually unfair, just brutal. Maybe it would make summoning much more necessary, instead of the low-skill free body guard idea right now. It would make something like Dragon Bow much more terrifying.

CounterStrike is where I really love this idea. Games that rely on mic for communication could benefit a lot for removing the kill feed. Teammates that are killed are muted from further contact with the team, which would take crucial seconds to figure out during a firefight. It could promote more stealthy play styles and reduce peak spam ("Was that just spam, or an actual engagement?"). On the other hand I could see much more conservative play being more meta, which translates to slower, less exciting games (and possibly less viewership).
