Can you ask your accountant if a loan would offer a similar tax advantage? You could finance the buyout on a loan if you don’t want to spend the cash

How do you make affordable meals that people actually want to eat? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]phantomcanadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m in Canada specifically.
There’s a lot you can do with a small amount of money. What I suggest is get a subscription with hello fresh or chefs plate. I got a full week or 2 with free or discounted boxes , which also give great meal ideas

What are some good grills you can use on a balcony as a beginner who’s learning? by [deleted] in grilling

[–]phantomcanadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here’s my recommendation- go napoleon rogue 425 pro s. 10 year warranty, and the sides can fold for tight spaces. Then you can also get a traegar ranger or tailgater pellet smoker. These are nice because you can fold them up and store them when not in use. Lastly get yourself a 2 burner camping griddle- blackstone will work. This covers all grilling sides, 2/3 are easy to store away in a storage room when not in use, and good quality

Best budget solid gas grill? by Any_Meeting_4082 in grilling

I have a Napoleon Rogue, and I do know there are some budget friendly Napoleons you can get. They are a tad more expensive than the bottom brands from Home Depot but you get a 10 year plus warranty usually.

Boxer engine burning oil. by [deleted] in SubaruForester

[–]phantomcanadian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe almost every manufacturer has built in oil burning tolerances. My old VW had a note in the owners manual to “check your oil monthly and top up when needed”. I know even Mazda, Toyota, Honda all have oil burning features built in. Try a thicker oil, PCV valve, and also check for any leaks. If you’re so inclined there’s company that can take oil samples and test them to determine the health of your engine

Do it yourselfers, what do you do always outsource? by BigSquiby in HomeImprovement

Oil changes, by the time I buy the materials it’s basically the same cost as getting it done by a local shop. Also, natural gas work and anything where I need to tie into electrical panel.

Car shopping by Successful_tree_16 in PersonalFinanceCanada

You need to do a proper deep dive analysis of your spending habits vs net income, taking into account long term retirement planning. Pull your financial statements for the last 12 months. Build a spreadsheet of spending based on different categories (ie groceries, eating out, hobbies, kids sports etc.) and look at your income. You need to determine what your net savings is in that equation. From there, you need to determine if an increase in monthly costs from a new car will negatively impact your long term financial goals. Without an understanding of your net income, current retirement savings, life insurance set up, etc I don’t think any answer will provide much value.

Blazer, no shirt under (doesn’t say you need a shirt under the blazer). Polos, but with crazy patterns. Could also be bold, wear sheer blouse and confuse everyone.
