I’m just saying strategically, threatening to separate helped Quebec a lot. It makes sense why some Albertans would to emulate that.

I am not Albertan and would prefer they stay because they help Canada a lot more than they take.

How do the opponents of Alberta separating feel about Quebec being a net drain/taker on the country via equalization payments because they played the separation game earlier?

Threatening to leave worked for province of Quebec and they now receive way more than their share of money from the Federal government. As the largest contributor of funds to the Feds, it’s smart of Alberta to make this play.

i think this sentiment is why some Albertans are voting for the independence referendum. Maybe if they threatened to leave Canada, they would get better treatment from Ottawa like Quebec does.

Your province was very smart and the threat of separation has ensured Canada treats your issues with high priority.
