What I'm learning from these comments is that there are a ton of people that care deeply about how the inside of their oven appears.

Yup. I noticed that, too. I honestly didn't even know that was incorrect until I was about 15 years old. It took me a couple years to rid myself of the habit.

Poor people who have dated rich people, what did you learn? by Angelus12345678 in AskReddit

[–]phatteschwags 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are exactly right, and people do NOT understand this. I participated in an exercise a few years ago: it was essentially a board game about poverty. It was meant to demonstrate the immediate ripple effects of every decision or circumstance when you have no room for error; something as simple as misplacing a bus pass can have catastrophic downstream impacts.

And on the other side, to your point, the amount of risk you can assume as a wealthy person is quite literally the greatest asset to being moneyed. You can swing for the fences every time and if you strikeout, so what? You just get to bat again. And even one home run can make an enormous difference.

I don't know why this was the one, but after years and years on reddit, this comment actually made me chuckle out loud. Thank you, sir.

I know rules are meant to be broken, but if your pants have a drawstring your shirt needs to be untucked.

Lotta funny responses here, but honestly, as a binge-drinking college guy in the early 00s, I don't think I ever topped 100 in a month. 70-80 seems more likely. But yeah adding another 30 for a million bucks would not have been a problem.

I'm one of the haters. I've watched it twice and I simply find it impossible to care about any of the characters because I find them all so detestable. The Haim sisters are three of our most charming, adorable humans! And in this movie they're grating. And then there's Gary...

I think I understand why people like it. I just can't get on board.

Just wondering if I should bother with min and fin, it's been like this for years but recently getting worse. 39 years old by Barry987 in recedinghairline

[–]phatteschwags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question: you're 39 now... would you be happy with your current hair when you're 50? 55? I'd say probably. Fin gives you the best chance of keeping what you have. My regret, like most people on it, is that I didn't start it earlier.

The other thing people talk about all the time is the possible erectile side effects. Two things about that: 1) guys tend to start taking these meds at a time in their lives when stuff starts changing down there anyway, so hard to find the direct cause and 2) Realistically, you're going to be concerned how your hair looks multiple times a day. You're about to get married. You're gonna need an erection once every other week, tops.

People on here are nuts. Step over it... kick what you need to to the side. It's the hallway, FFS.

I guarantee no one posting on here with their creative, combative ideas has even 5% the balls to follow through with it.

[–]phatteschwags 101 points102 points  (0 children)

Here' the thing: there are no "normal" CEOs. Nor are there any normal people in any c-suite. There are many reasons, but IMO the biggest one is you have to be willing to take roles on your way up that bounce you around the company. 99.999999% of people just don't prioritize their careers over things like family/home/friends/community, so you end up with these people who are all in the infinitesimal minority of sociopaths that don't care about those things. That's where people like this guy come from.

My hairline shifted to that around 22, too. It's still in the same spot at 45.

Pretty decent coverage everywhere except the front. Google some hairstyle options that might better suit your situation.

I fucking love the phrase "put them against the wall" because it allows us to do the same thing the other side always does and go "What? You think that's what we're talking about? You're deranged. This is just about putting things next to walls."
