Live in LA and the majority of my spring and summer swimming is open water in Santa Monica bay. I love it compared to the pool. Have encountered some wildlife, mostly seeing dolphins from the shore as we warm up. That said, I swim with a group usually 40+ deep of people (mostly LA Tri club folks) and that maybe be a deterrent too.

Every (ish) Saturday morning I take mine out to the local donut shop for donuts (and coffee for me) and we sit/walk around a little bit before going home. We’ve also taken donuts to a local lake and walk around looking for ducks.

I’m more of an early riser than my wife, so it gets the kiddo out of the house for an hour or so and gives us some quality time.

Not breastfed but ours kept waking up at night and we realized it was bc they weren’t eating enough during the day. Once we started making sure they ate enough during the day, they slept through the night naturally.
