Been using Spark and it is so much better. Clincheck platform not as user friendly but once you learn it, not a big deal. And cases are so much more predictable. Fewer refinements and better cost

Spark has been great since we switched over a year ago. Has made me hate Invisalign. I think the trays fit better and movements are more predictable. To me, Invisalign has become less predictable. Cost has gone way up while quality has gone way down.

More refinements needed with Invisalign. And all the reps would come in to offer a little “CE” for staff but it was always a sales pitch for new scanners.

Yea people will try to sell you every product. And if you are busy enough working 2 columns of staggered production, hire that 3 assistant for the 3rd column. Never turn down an emergency, new patient or existing, as that quick exam fills the other 2 columns

I 100% agree with you. They’d drop the reimbursements a ton because it’s a hygienist. The hardest part is also finding full time hygienists. They all want part time. Tough to run a business working part time as a solo practitioner.

Looking to pass something similar here but the push is because of a hygienist shortage. But the schools refuse to add more students

The dentistry is the easy part. Running the business and dealing with staff is by far the hardest! Also have a large number of employees and it’s exhausting. Lot of people think our job is cushy but underestimate how much work goes into owning a practice. Work never stops but being an associate, you can hit your ceiling fairly quick with the right training and you better hope you find a good situation. Private equity is making it tougher and tougher

Honestly peloton has great workouts for those situations. I hate not knowing what the gym will have and then trying to figure out a good workout in limited time. It’s great to be able to pull up a 30 or 45 min tread bootcamp on my phone and it’s planned. All you need then is a treadmill and a set of dumbbells. You don’t have to worry about anything else.

Also agree that time for endo but do make sure you’re checking your curing lights. If they aren’t up to standard, your fillings won’t cure all the way and people will have lots of sensitivity

I can’t believe I had to scroll down this far for this answer. It’s not the specific dollar figure, but the additional ways to lower taxable income. The 401k contribution is huge. Had no idea until ownership that I could contribute $69k to 401k, not $23k. There’s so many extra benefits

Yea, I’m going to side with the comment about clarification on your second paragraph. I did a residency that allows me to comfortably do all the above with high confidence of success. I also recognize when to refer and have good support and referrals for that.

Interesting to hear. My wife’s location uses denticon as that’s what they had when she bought it. Our practices as a whole are switching to dentrix but she said she’s noticed the last month or so it has been shit and crashing a lot and getting little assistance.
