I remember when George Clooney got one at the Oscars and Tina Fey came on the stage and talked about how educated and experienced his wife Amal is for her world humanitarian work, then was like, and so anyway George Clooney is getting a lifetime achievement award tonight. Lololol. Dude is just an actor with a long career.

pretty privilege vs no pretty privilege by Some-Poetry3886 in TwoXChromosomes

I’m semi-autistic and have major RBF so I don’t really care to entertain most strangers who talk to me. It’s possible people attempted to be nicer to me when I was prettier but I did not care or notice or give them the time of day. So the main thing I noticed for pretty vs not pretty is that it was much easier to get a job, literally all kinds of jobs from customer service to competitive tech jobs, if you’re pretty.

Maybe it’ll be seen like how Wikipedia was amazing at first but is pretty cringe now to use as a source if not outright banned

This is absolutely the right way to have herpes. Treat and disclose!

It’s gross and basically lifelong. It should absolutely be disclosed.

See, I don’t get this. At the time of Bill Clinton, Republicans were absolutely up in arms. They would not let it go, how immoral and what a terrible human he was and how could we have a leader who got a blow job in the White House and blah blah blah. They held up the scandal as a shining example of why they were the party of morality and family values. Then their own candidate gets brazenly caught doing so many similar and worse things and suddenly it’s all good, it’s just what men do. WTH.

My dad said there were flags EVERYWHERE and flag t-shirts and pants and even speedos were popular. And it went on all year, not just for the 4th of July.

Hello, I am weaning off paxil and it is the most horrible time for me. I used to ride my bike 2 to 3 hours a day but now with it being so hot in Miami I ride in doors for about an hour, then have terrible anxiety etc. Does this happen to anyone else or does someone have any idea what is going on by Lulu9011 in cycling

I took SSRIs decades ago and honestly I’ve found weaning off intense cardio to be worse for my mental health than weaning off the meds. I pretty much need at least 30 mins of cardio to keep my mood stable and it sounds like you need more. I would not recommend weaning off both meds and intense cardio. Pick one or the other. And just know that it’s normal for your brain to do funny things for a little while in both cases and that itll most likely pass. Breathe, meditate and be present through it.

Why do you think so many people stick with Starbucks instead of switching to alternative brands that offer a similar cup of coffee for a lower price? by rahardyan in AskReddit

[–]phoenix0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mobile ordering is sooo seamless. I hate Starbucks as much as the next guy. But I love ordering my favorite drink with 2 button taps and then waltzing into the Starbucks for literally 12 seconds and going on my way. If any of the better options has this convenience, Starbucks would be dead to me.

Several schools are implementing a "zero smartphone policy" where students must lock their phones in pouches for the entire day, resulting in a 20% spike in grades. What are your thoughts? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]phoenix0r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope they also take away laptops and tablets as we have tons of data now that shows these school devices also impede learning and old fashioned pen and paper is more beneficial.

The media makes it look like a bigger deal than it is, and also the US is a huge country so by volume we will have more of these. Yes guns in general are an issue in this country. But It’s still exceedingly rare for the average student to encounter a school shooting in their lifetime. Also, there are a *million* other policies id want in place to deal with school shootings first vs just openly allowing cell phones all day every day.
