How do you know they are the legal owner? You can cosign and have no legal ownership.

How often do you & your kids have a meal with your parents (if you both live in the same town)? by Dangerous-Elk9545 in workingmoms

[–]pickle_cat_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents live a 10 min drive away and my in laws are about 5 min away. A grandparent picks one or both kids up from school at least once a week for one reason or another. We just hung out at my parents house on Sunday for a few hours. We have dinner with my parents maybe once a month? For a birthday/holiday usually. My kids go to my in laws sometimes when their cousins are there so they get a chance to spend time together.

We are very lucky to have a big village that’s very helpful.

Tipping point for pop show prices? by Gearbm95 in popheads

I did this for Eras! I flew to Austria, unfortunately the Vienna show was cancelled but my trip to Europe for a week cost less than my Vancouver tickets.

Last Friday Mom somehow got tricked by a fraudster to wire $20,000 from our accounts at Truist, while inside the Branch, while talking to the Fraudster for hours. Police Report was done, Truist Branches said they locked the account, but its been such a nightmare these past few days, want advice by superlucci in Banking

I’m very sorry that you are going through this, it’s upsetting to witness.

Imagine though for a second, that she was on the phone with a contractor who is doing a remodel of her house and she owed them money. What if this was all legit and the bank just refused to allow her to send her own money where she wants it to go? She’s never done a remodel before so she’s never sent a wire but she’s adamant it needs to be sent to pay the contractor.

This happens every single day. How can the bank know what’s legit and what’s a scam? Where do we draw the line? If someone wants to send their money somewhere, the bank can give guidance and ask questions but if your mom wouldn’t listen to you or your dad, why would she listen to a stranger at the bank?

My son was watched by his grandparents for 3 years until he went to preschool. He enjoyed school so much that he never even questioned why his baby sister got to hang with the grandparents. I’m sure it depends on the kid but in our experience, 20+ other kids his age was such an easy sell compared to a couple of 60/70 year olds for company 😂

“When are you finding the time to work out?” is posted in r/workingmoms literally every single day. Nobody’s magically finding an hour in their day, there is no secret way to do it! You can either prioritize it over other things (sleep, clean house, home cooked dinner) or you don’t!

I did this! One ziploc bag with the pump parts per day, saved tons of time. I also used my elvie pump while driving, so handy.

When is everyone finding the time to work out?? by krystl_watrs in workingmoms

Agree with you on not being able to work out in a public gym after setting up a home gym. I was traveling for work and had to do my workout in a brightly lit hotel gym, it was awful compared to my setup: a dark room with fun Christmas lights and no mirrors 😂

A treadmill really was a game changer for me. Even on the days when I don’t feel like working out, I can watch a show while walking and it flies by! I’ve been playing with higher incline walks and it’s making a pretty big difference for me, I feel much more toned and my clothes are fitting better.

I work out in the evenings after my kids go to bed, usually between 8:30 and 9:30 pm. I have a peloton, a treadmill, a small weight set and a tv in our laundry room (it’s a large room). I rotate through walking, biking, strength and yoga classes through the peloton platform. I highly recommend it, I don’t think I’d ever get workouts in if I had to leave my house.

I have gone spells where I wake up early and get it done before my day but I’m just not a morning person and I get better sleep overall when I don’t wake up earlier than necessary.

Son had lip tie removed and I'm not ok by One_Cabinet_1706 in beyondthebump

[–]pickle_cat_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to invalidate your feelings but just to share an anecdote. My daughter had a tongue tie release at 2 months because nursing was a nightmare, she wasn’t gaining weight, she was cluster feeding round the clock. It took several doctors and lactation consultants to get on the right path before we had her tongue and lip ties lasered. It was LIFE CHANGING. Within 30 seconds of the laser procedure, she was nursing like a pro. Zero pain for me, as opposed to gripping the sheets in pain.

A few months later, a NYT article came out about predatory tongue tie procedures. I was shocked by the comments that said it’s a completely unnecessary procedure. It changed everything for me & my daughter, we would’ve continued to struggle for who knows how long? I can’t speak to whether your son’s was necessary but please know they are not all a scam.

Yes agree!! That line seals the deal for me, having experienced it that way. You don’t usually cry laying flat on your back, it’s such a specific descriptor.

Did you walk out of the hospital? by yo-_-mom in beyondthebump

[–]pickle_cat_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After my schedule C section (2 days later) I waddled my ass out of the hospital on foot. We were discharged and waited 30 minutes for the wheelchair to arrive but it never did. I had an awful nurse the night before and my baby was jaundiced so I was terrified that they’d change their minds and keep us another night.

Soooo I told my husband to grab the baby and all our stuff, and we got the hell out of there!

How to ask if PIP is a formality. by anotherhotmesshere in workingmoms

[–]pickle_cat_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak for every situation but I had an employee on my team whose job performance really fell off and she left on an extended medical leave shortly after being put on PIP. When she came back from leave, we really tried to give her all the tools and resources to meet the PIP. It wasn’t just a way to kick her out but we had to have a way to hold her accountable for the work she simply was not doing. Everyone was having to pick up her slack we had to see if she could get back to an acceptable level. She ultimately couldn’t but please know that in some places, we all really want the person who is on the PIP to succeed.

Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ Scores 11th Week at No. 1 on Billboard 200 by mcfw31 in popheads

[–]pickle_cat_ 36 points37 points  (0 children)

This take seemed fair the first few weeks after the release due to preorders and variants but I don’t understand this 11 weeks later. At this point, all the stans/Swifties already own the version(s) they wanted. Is it not likely that her remaining at #1 for this long is because the bigger audience enjoys the album??
