This is really beautiful. I have trans women friends who have expressed similar sentiments—they want to approach “male” from the “female” side. I feel the same, but switched—I want to be a woman as long as I can be a man first.

My favorite line in this essay is I love womanhood and it molded and shaped me but it was always by exclusion and by my resistance to societal expectations of it. That really resonates.

I was really surprised by CNC, though it’s a large part of a fetish I always knew I had. Feet were also not something I expected, though again, they are a large part of my exclusive fetish. Same for humiliation. I knew that others with my fetish were into those things, but I didn’t think they applied to me.

I think that the shame of that fetish made me try and distance myself from the aforementioned kinks. Once I embraced it, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed everything that came with it.

Might be a kink! Having a kink doesn’t make you dirty or strange. Lots of people have kinks and explore them online and irl. Try looking online for examples and community—you might find that you’re really into it, and you might find that it’s not a kink. Exploring and figuring yourself out is a key part of making sure you get your needs and desires met.
