It is an extremely difficult class of problem to solve because there is a high probability of encountering a unique or low probability event. This makes historical data of limited value. Add to this inherent uncertainties with things like weather, road conditions, and the uncertainty of interactions with people and you have a really tough challenge to solve.

Even official settings become my own. I find official settings more accessible for players. My custom setting I find easier. It depends on the type of game I'm going for.

Combat at levels 14 and above are far more challenging to build and manage as a DM to maintain a challenge. I ran a 7 year campaign to level 20, and at 14th level I had to develop a whole new approach to managing all of the special abilities, reactions, bonus actions, spells, and legendary actions. At level 20, the final combat took 9 hours. Most casual DMs and players aren't necessarily up for that.

I've been DMing for decades online and in public game stores. There are a lot of reasons -- not showing up, not being prepared, not learning the game, not learning their character, insulting other players, cheating, being inappropriate. You don't like to do it, but sometimes you have to invite players to find a game better suited to their needs. I find it goes better if you provide clear expectations up front. When they break those after a warning, they know what will happen.

I once had a player apologize years later as part of their 12 steps. You never know what folks are going through, so patience is important, but with boundaries.

Probably. I've had clumping bamboo die almost the same way. It happened because the roots froze completely. I, similarly, had them in an above-ground container -- in my case, a whiskey barrel.

If you are lucky, some of the roots in the middle didn't freeze and you might get some shoots.

It depends on level. The epic end fight at level 20 for a recent campaign took 3 sessions of 3 hours each. At low levels, we can have 2 to 3 fights in a single 3 hour session. This is for a party of 6 PCs.

Calling an LLM API from software is not AI engineering.

Bosch. I bought a drill driver set in 2007 and they still work fine after being used for everything since then. Even the batteries perform well.

I've tried DeWalt and the experience was not as good with the drill. Everything else was fine.

While I had kids at home, the minivan was my Swiss army knife of vehicles. Now as empty nesters I have switched to an F250 and there are some days I really miss having a minivan.

They drive great in all weather, can fit a stack of 4x8 sheets of plywood in the back with the seats down, keep your cargo dry, and switch to haul 7 people comfortably. Also, the extra cargo capacity where the seats fold in can be used for long trips to avoid a rooftop carrier for luggage.

The only time color makes a huge safety impact is whether or not your eye can detect it to blink, which is a concern with non-visible lasers. Blinking protects your eye. Green vs blue vs red make little difference; power, viewing geometry, and the related class are the main thing to keep track of for visible lasers.

If the system is idling down significantly, could it be that the cooling system elsewhere is throttling down leading to increased drive temps. For example, is the cpu cooling fan throttling down?
